    • RE: Presidential Election (as a current event- watch the tone or it's gone)

you are right, he can’t get the base because of those areas, and that makes him not a seriouse runner although the media would like us to beleive other wise… also his stance on gun laws adds to that.

his ability to lead in a crisous is a big deal though, compair it to Hurican Katrina, the local and state government fell threw and it was instantlly passed to the Federal level, who also took the brunt of the blaim. not just that, he reacted in the proper way for his posision at the time to 9/11, he did not stand by for federal assistance, but he took the bull by the horns and lead right there. i’m not a huge fan of the guy, but i do reconize his strong point. he can lead as he has proven desisivly in a stressfull situation.

he did how ever prove that he can take charge, not blame others, and do a good job in a crisous situation. those are good trates in a person who may be the next leader of the US. he may have problems, but these are things you can’t deniy he has done.

i’m not an expert on how Caucus’ work, i’m sure most people arn’t, so with out knowing how they work exactly it looks like what you said was politically backed. now if what you say is true (i have no reason to doupt you, i’m just saying) then it’s not political in the way i thought it sounded before. but it dosn’t change that with out knowing how caucus’ work accuratlly it did look that way, and with that it did look wrong that you were asking another to tread carfully when it looked like you your self did other wise.

    • RE: MOH Airborne

now my turn to but in
i got a few questions. my wife and i like to play games together on the PS2, i am a huge MoH fan and we both liked Rising sun (except for some reason the 2nd to last lvl can’t be beat in co opp as you hit a wall and can’t pass it), any way i want to know if there are any other co opp WWII FPS’s out there for PS2 with out going on line?

      @Jermofoot:

Rising Sun was pretty good on the PS2 because you could set up bots in a multiplayer match

how did you do this? could you set up the bots as the Germans/US and both players play the same side?

last i am looking to in the near future upgrade to the PS3, is the Airborn game co opp in the story mode?

Romney just won WY today… well at least it’s not offical, he has over 50% of the delegates in the state with only a few left to go.

      edit:
i have just spent some time on project vote smart’s web site, McCain has according to it been pritty much anti abortion, at least thats how i understood his voting record. he how ever has had a flip on issues such as English as the US offical language, had has voted for other issues in ways i don’t see as conservative. now i didn’t spend fore ever on each thing but it did help me and i think it should help others to look hear to see voting records for the canadents.

if you mean the seperation in that he is a minister, then that is not how the constatution is meant to be, it is meant that the church can’t tell the government what to do and the government can’t tell the church what to do (policy wise), also that the US can not hold any religion above another, force any religion, or pesacute any religion based on the religious beliefs. this dosn’t mean that a religion that dose human sacrafice can hid behind religion for murder, it means that the government can’t stop a person from practicing there religion how they want so long as it dosn’t hurt any one.

it dosn’t change that he has voted on things that the bulk of conservatives don’t want or agree to, the boarder is a major issue to most conservatives and by voting and pushing in a way conservatives don’t want is a large hurt for his bid to be president.

you asked “what values does he hold that conservatives don’t like”, you got it. the point is as you said, he votes both ways as you also said, you are making 2 arguments that contradict each other for him.

    • RE: Presidential Election (as a current event- watch the tone or it's gone)

you said it your self with “votes both ways”, if you vote for say earned citizenship for illegal immigrants in the US, then you are voting against what conservatives want. you can’t argue that he hasn’t voted with the left when your own words not 2 post before said he has. that puts him as having views that are not in keeping with the conservatives that are his base.

    • RE: Presidential Election (as a current event- watch the tone or it's gone)

McCain isn’t liked by the Democrats because he has an “R” next to his name and by the far left because of his support of the millitary, so he can’t win or sway there votes.
he is disliked by the Republicans because he has had as you say “votes both ways”, he has voted for things that Republicans and the Right don’t agree with in the past and this hurts him a lot. you can’t vote against your base and expect your Base to support you.
i will say this, McCain and Guiliani are the best two on the war, but they hold values (for diffrent reasons) that are hard for the Conservatives to stand behind.

i was simply pointing out that IMHO dezrtfish’s statment seamed to be more political then Jen’s and he was telling her to be careful, i didn’t say he edited in the way of taking out any thing.
it’s hard for you to talk about a political race and not talk politics, it’s just the nature of it.

with what Jen just said, i think we had it happen 3 times in the past. i could be remembering wrong though.

i don’t think you can have this kind of talk with out it turnning political as it is a political race.
as for your (dezrtfish) edit of Jen’s statment above, i think she was meaning that it’s amazing that she got 3rd and not higher with all the media around her and the Clinton publicity machine behind her. i’m not saying my political view on this, just that it’s strange that she fell to 3rd and not 2nd at lowest… expetally with her being the Dem fav.

      @dezrtfish:

I gota say I would have loved to discuss a “caucus” with someone who has been to one, especialy a Democratic one.

if any thing this seams to me to be more political then Jen’s statment as you brought a perticular party up. is it because you would want to go to the Dem Caucus because you support the Dems or because you would get a good laugh out of it. ether interpritation would be political.

    • RE: R1: Sub Movement

link with the uk navy if i even remember it’s there.
if the bid looks like for the Germans like they may try to go for the UK on G1 i can see moving the sub to block, but that would be the only other move i can see doing with it.

has a presidence been set for this before? what i mean has any one asked and been aproved or denied on this kind of thing before.

i think it’s a good idea but some ground rules may need to be set before it’s started.
like no be littleing of people based on any reason expetally there views (canidents though are fair game).
some other “controls” would be good too.

    • RE: Czech this scenario…

the game exist, it’s called “East and West” but it was so poorly made that you have to own atleast one other version of Axis and Allies just to set up the boards starting units as it came with almost nothing and even then it’s hard as it has a tech for heavy tanks that cost more $ so you need 2 tank peaces when you get the tech.
i love the rules for the game as it’s not just straight kill the enamy but you also have spies and what not, but the company that put it out did a realy poor job of it.

    • RE: Any suggestions for keeping track of moves?

if you are moving a large amount though via sea i personally prefer to rob the fleet markers from Pacific. then i just place the land units on the supplied card with the ships.
if you don’t have Pacific (and thus don’t know what i mean exactly), it’s the same as what they did for Revised with the army markers only it’s specified for fleets and the marker for the board is a little fleet plastic peace that has a spot to put the country of the fleets marker on it. i prefer this as those little round chips are hard to always notice if your destracted by other battles. i had a transport invasion force hiding in that for an invasion into south Europe one game. the landing force cought my by suprise and i could have avoided it or atleast prevented some of the blow had it been more noticable.
any way, if you go out and buy another version of A&A, make it Pacific for 2 reasons. 1 the fleet markers, and 2 for the red Japs… i love the red japs, it makes them stand out and i think red is there color

    • RE: Revisiting the Kill Japan First (KJF) Strategy

i did get in ADS with Japan a take on the US before realy getting deep into Asia. it was a fluke but still it worked.
it was a fluke because i was moving around with a few trani’s taking Austrelia and NZ, by the end i had just a tank left, i saw WUS with just 2 Infantry and decided it was worth the try, brought the trani with tank up to strike distance well still making my push west into Asia. i made the move on the next round and by dumb luck got it, seeing my opertunity i changed strats and went full Japan on US. first turn i took WUS i moved all my tranis over fully loaded to land the next turn, of course the counter attack took WUS back but i was able to land a real landing force (that got pushed off again), followed by the landing force that hit the next turn and held WUS for me. this was in the older version where there was no central US. with central US i would have probably held the turn before.
my point is that in ADS the US can fall before moscow or UK. it’s just about taking a risk some times.

    • RE: Japan Pearl Heavy… 4 tpt buy?

sinking Transports that arn’t ment to be fodder are always one of the best investments IMO… just hope you don’t get the poor luck i had a a few games back. i sent two German fighters against 2 UK transports that were bringing reinforcments into USSR; it had to be one of the worse millitary blunders in history, round 1, UK 2 hits, Germans 0. i was so mad. still won the game but it wasn’t due to Germany thats for sure.

because russia is the only one that don’t got to react on round 1. ya there are diffrent moves, but each of them can be made with out reacting (short of bids).
