    • RE: Aa50 Chinese infantry painting

Just do a google search for WWII chinese infantry. Here is something I found on the first page of search (search “images”). Its a box top from a very reputable model company. This copy is a bit small, you can look for a larger version. Chineese seem to come in either a catachan green or my personal choice: a pale grey color (with a slight touch of bluish-green). But I have also seen what looks to be pea green. The chinese army has not as stricktly color-coordinated as, say, the nazi army, so you have some flexability.

Cromwell: A “simple” part of the order, this was not to get extreme wear and weathering, or minute detail. But it looks so good “fresh” this is really one of the tanks that should not be made battle-weary - at least not in this color scheme. It does have a bit of rust and grunge, and I did better than simple on the details like road rubber and such. Its one nice (semi) clean-machine.
Tiger I: Ordered in “dark panzer grey” to have a more sinister look. This tank could not be overly weathered or damaged, cause that tends to lighten a tanks coloration, especially a tank of darker color. Highlights were left to a minimum to preserve dark shade. Crew wear was added. Wherever the crew would climb in and out is painted in worn, semi-rusy bare metal. Exhaust and whole rear end is heavily blackened from both smoke and grease, with a bit of rust. Wheels were left uninked. If I had made the wheels more natural, with the darker rust and mud stains, it would make the upper half of the tank look a shide lighter by comparison. Crosses, white divisional markings, and kill marks add enough white for more contrast. I really tried to create a few illusions to make the tank appear darker than it is.
Hummel: Originally just a “touch-up” with crew added, this tank ended up a full load of 2-part ammo, which the crew are just finishing loading into the open doors at the rear. Heavy wear from 2 front crewman getting in and out is added. Floors show excessive wear.
Maultier: Converted from an SD251, this is reshaped on every hull surface except the sides. Front is extended, but the dip in the fender was left as is. Maultier had a full-length, flat, fender that extended from the tracks up over the front wheel. Headlights were also not added. BUT the launcher got some extra detail, and the entire back half of the vehicle shows the smoky results of countless rockets leaving it covered in a spray of burning rocket fumes. Also, the crew had to climb all over these thinsg to load them, so the rear deck is worn down to the metal.
Shermans: Two identical camo patterns. Neither heavily weathered, one has marine stars, the other has standard army stars.
Mustang: Dont know what to say. Just found the nicest reference pic I could find, and copied it. Added rockets under the wings.

    • RE: French 6 inch howitzers, crewed, scratchbuilt x6

Also, the radio man has an antannae on his radio.
Ignore the green specs that appear to be on the crewman, its actually sitting on the glass of my scanner. A few always fall off, and it looks in the scan like they are stuck to the minis.

    • French 6 inch howitzers, crewed, scratchbuilt x6

Made 6 of these, in approx 1:110 scale (in between AAM V1 & V2).
I dont have wheels on yet, so only 4 are shown finished for now. I couldnt wait to post these until I got 4 more wheels.

    • Tiger 1 in worn winter camo

This AAM (V2) mini wasn’t supposed to be an “extra-fine”, just a “standard” job, but I got a bit carried away.

Nothing fancy, not excessively wethered or anything, but very sharp.

    • Soviet 203mm Gun x6 scratchbuilt (AAM scale)

(overall length, barrel to tail = 3")
With the scracthbuilds and “extra-fine” models I have made lately, I was worried that maybe everything else I made would be anti-climactic. When a soviet 203mm scratchbuild was ordered, I figured it was time to crank up the assembly line and make 6. I always make scratchbuilds in multiples now, and I am keeping 2 of these for myself, with 3 remaining yet to be sold.
3 are in Soviet green, and 3 in winter camo. None are “neat”, all have  wear and weathering. One of the green ones has EXTRA wear and rust, and its my favorite of the buinch. It really looks like cast metal that was left outside and forgotten for years. It has rust wherever thier should be rust, and recent gray-ish exposed metal wherever thier would be very fresh wear (edges of legs, crank handles, standing platforms, barrel sleeve joint, ammo crane guide, etc.).
These models have the distinction of not only the normal balsa wood, metal tubing, and paper; but having a few sterling silver and gold plated parts (painted over of course). Cutting metal tubing into 2mm lengths, grinding, and sanding them is impossible. So I resorted to the jewelry section of Hobby lobby to get some sterling silver connectors (for stowage hatches on the back of the legs) and 2mm gold plated crimp tubes (scattered all over, and also on my T-92 models).

    • Afrika corps 3 heavy tanks

3 AAM (version 2.0) tanks, heavily modded with crew, supplies, battle damage, and desert wear. The Panzerjager IV has an complete engine comprtment with engine, fuel, batteries, exhaust, etc. PzIV & Tiger I each have a hollowed turret with gun inside, and all hatches open. Spent ammo shells are brass tubing. Panzerjager has all aluminum barrels, and Tiger I has partial metal tubing barrel. Roof MGs made for Tiger & PzIV.
Jacks were made for each vehicle, as well as rolled up tenting material, many spare tracks with racks, spare road wheels, and misc boxes and storage containers.
You can look right into the turrets and see gun breech, crew, and turret rings. Fenders are ascew. Each and every gap in the sprockets and rear wheels are individually inked, and every visable sprocket and track tooth is rusted and silvered. Exhaust stains are all around the tank’s exhausts, and cables are added to the panzerjager.  Battle damage even affects a few of the insignia.
