Winter weary Pz IVposted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
Its springtime for this Pz IV, and the whitewash is severly faded. This Pz IV has my now “trademark” hollow resin-cast turret (just try to hollow out the RUBBER - ick - turrets on the V2 minis).
3 man crew is tucked insdie the turret, with breechblock insdie as well. Spent shell casings lay on the rear deck, tossed out the side hatches during battle. Also has misc supplies mounted, spare tracks, etc.

Winter weary IS-2posted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
Done to fine detail. It has added cables. Note the area where the red star is was “masked off” before whitewashed. This IS-2 has been around the block, its springtime now, and the whitewash is severly faded.

Sig33 & Soviet 203mm guns, crewedposted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
I try to make sure that each crewman just did, or is doing, or about to do something. No gratuitious (spelling?) figures.
…
For the sig; 1 man is directing, 1 man is spotting, 1 man is ramming the split ammo into the breech, and 2 men are honking ammo (split part ammo, with the powder charges in small brass cartridges).Thier are cartidge cases, stacked (unspent) cartridges, and spent cartridges all around the ground. For the 203mm; 1 commander and 1 radio man are discussing and calling in orders, 1 loader is operating the hoist to lift a shell in its 4-wheeled cradle and 2 other men are honking ammo for him (straining to jointly lift a shell), 1 man is getting into his chair while another is about to dismount.

Germans in full camoposted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
Pretty cool guys, from 1:72 scale “Forcs of Valor” set, that will get used alongsdie a few AAM pieces. Repainted of course. I dont know what it is, but thier seems to be an oilyness that seeps up through the paint. I have tried all sorts of sealers, but this oily feeling always comes back eventually. The paint on the men does not lift off, or itself get greasy, so no harm no foul I guess.

All parts (except 20mm and MG barrels, and any commanders) are sculpted by me, and cast in resin.

Angry NATO mob x20posted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
4x Reactive-armored M-60s (my fav),
8x M1A1,
8x Bradley.
All are micro-machines, about 1.75 to 2 inches long. My customer and myself use micro-machines alongside V1 AAM minis.

Marine 30 cal. & 50 cal. MG teamsposted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
The 3 small MG teams are AAM minis customized to be US marine 30 cal teams (with home-made ammo belts and resculpted men). The other 30 cal teams and 50 cal teams are FoW.
I have not done very much FoW stuff yet, but I do know I do not like the overly-heavy inked lines I see on so many “pro-painted” FoW minis I see. I did use inks, but I made sure to dry-brush the men afterwards to lessen the bulky thick ink lines I see on so many others.

RE: Sig 33 's, scratchbuilt field guns x10posted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
Well, what I meant by V1 & V2 was the 2 different scales AAM collectables made thier minis.
I can certainly make V1 or V2 rockets, if that is what you are asking, but I need to know in what scale, and how detailed you want them.
One guy asked me to go ahead and make some, and if he liked the price, he might buy some, AFTER I made them. Needless to say, I cant work that way.
If you have interest in getting a quote on such work, give me an e-mail at timdrocks@mchsi.com. My name is Jim (not TIM, lol) -
Sig 33 's, scratchbuilt field guns x10posted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
10x Sig 33 150mm field howitzers built to AAM V1.5 scale (approx 1:110th scale), so as to be compatible with either V1 or V2 pieces (biggies and smallies).
Barrels are metal tubing, shields are paper, braces are brass, crankwheels are (well, that’s a secret), and the frames, lower half of the barrel, and wheels are cast resin (my 1st resin castings - much more of that to come). Only the fine-spoked wheels on 1 of the greys is not cast.
Appropriate rust, grunge, and wear were added. Shields have the historically accurate marker poles (or whatever those are).
