    • RE: AAM board game men

Here are some men done to “fine standards”, from “fortress america” game. Same scale as AAM men. Note the unit patches, and the snipers have black ski masks on.

    • RE: Painting Techniques for 15mm Infantry, 1/285 Micro Armor and 1/2400 Navy Metals/

I finally got around to getting an order for board game troops, and have a new thread for them. I have a better idea now whats involved in doing them, and what they should cost.

    • AAM board game men

I think for the old board game, just somewhat more modern sculpts than my old guys.
BRITISH = painted to “normal standards” (inked & drybrushed all over).
EVERYONE ELSE = Painted to simple (economy) standards.
The Brits, really need to be done more carefully. The skin tone, and uniform colors are too close, and they look fully nude or something, without reddish ink over flesh and brown ink and khaki over uniform. They have much more exposed skin also. The skin is the biggest difference (visually) between simple and normal paint jobs.
The bases are all repainted to that army’s original color of plastic.

    • Desert rat churchill, with interchangeable guns

All 4 of the weapons that appeared on this churchill. Done with swappable barrels. Extra goodies like a field-mounted US MG (scarfed from a halftrack, you can see part of the ring mount), antannaes, and crew stuff like tarps, tent, etc. AAM “V2” mini comes with battle damage also, and wear from crew.

    • RE: Desert trio, with "all-out" Hummel

Thank you. I still make plenty of models, I just have to spend less time posting them. I have way too many irons in the fire, but I wish I had time to post all the stuff I do. A lot of it, I paint, let dry, then pack and ship, thinking later “oops, I didnt scan it”.  :(

The last striped Panthers I did were sprayed-on stripes. These are brushed-on stripes.

    • Diorama piece - desert 88mm

This is a complete diorama, and the 88 flak comes off for use all by itself. Crew are positioned so the gun (which swivels) can rotate without hitting any. The front shield comes off, for use as the “other” flak. Thier is also a high velocity crucible mount 88mm AT gun which will mount on this very same base. This high velocity 88 is part of another order, and isnt completed yet.
Scrb brushes (3) are on the base, and made with camel hair. Resin cast ammo crates and ammunition are present. But no empty shell cases, as this crew has just set up. One crewman is pulling the camo netting down to be set up. Note that many of the crewman have had weapons and excessive packs removed, since heavy gun crews left such things on thier vehicle. One man has had his jacket trimmed down and now looks to be wearing just his white undershirt. One man has a panzershriek modified into a rangefinder.

Heres a Tiger I and Px IV, both loaded with extra (resin-cast) parts of mine, crew, and a metal barrel (on the Tiger I).
Below those area desert trio, with a mteal barrelled wespe, Praga tank, and a very heavily customzed Hummel with all the tricks.

    • Snow-bound 203mm, 2x sFH-18 & 2x Pak 75mm muddied guns

All heavy guns (2x sFH-18 & 1x soviet 203mm) are scratchbuilt. Paks are modified with metal barrel (and multi-part muzzle breaks made from brass and heat-shrink tubing). All are done to “fine” standards, and the 203mm is an “uber-model” (extra-fine detail, small self-contained diorama).
Germans are set on “muddy” bases, Soviet 203mm in snow. All 3 heavy guns have the apporopriate ruts in the ground from the wheels, and recoil from the spades. Snowed base has some kicked up mud mixed in with the snow. 203mm also includes shell loading carts, shell hoist (in use), and breech rammer. Ammo for all guns is split ammo (seperate powder charges and warheads). sFH powder charges are in brass cartridges, 203mm are cloth-bound powder bags.

    • RE: MAUS tank V1.5 (1:110 scale)

Here is one of my 1:110 scale Maus tanks next to a newer “V2” sclae (1:100) King Tiger. Its made to be right in between the oder AAM tanks, and the newer ones. It looks fine with each scale.
These range in price from $40 (simpler 1-color), most about $60, but some up to $80 (with many extra features and ambush camo).
Currently, I have only sand colored maus with the side cables in stock right now. Those can be all sand, or have camo added, or even the ambush camo. I can make any configuration you want (even unpainted tanks that you finish yourself), but it may require a month or two wait, since Im low on resin right now. But a sand based maus, with at least a few features, I could supply right away.
I have unpainted, white-plastic flak turrets all made up, but just not painted. I can have one of those ready at a moments notice. Those are $25 to $35, depending on if it is to have the complicated ambush camo or not.
If you want to discuss any more options, give me an e-mail at

    • RE: MAUS tank V1.5 (1:110 scale)

3 More Maus ready for shipment. The green camo job I already posted. The grey one I posted quite a while ago, but it is on a new, simpler, chassis now. The ambush is one I just finished, with a combination of toothbrush spatter and toothpick applied dots. Even though the fine spatter (much of which I cover up with some touch-ups) is not to scale with the other dots, it creates the apperance of being roughly textured, like that spackle paint.
