Favorite House Rules for Axis & Alliesposted in House Rules
Hi everyone,
I really enjoy creating and testing house rules for Axis & Allies, especially Global 1940, and I’d love to hear what the community thinks works best.
Some questions to get the discussion going:
What are your favorite house rules and why?
Do you use rules mainly for balance, historical accuracy, or fun/speed of play?
Are there any house rules you tried that didn’t work as expected?
I’m always looking for new ideas and I’d love to exchange thoughts or even collaborate on refining house rules.
Looking forward to hearing your opinions! -
Best way to start with Global War 1936 / 1914 (HBG)?posted in Global War
Hi everyone,
I’m interested in getting into Global War by Historical Board Gaming, especially Global War 1936 and Global War 1914, but I’m not completely sure what the best way to start is.
There seem to be many options (starter kits, expansions, maps, pieces, shipping choices), and as someone new to Global War, I’d really appreciate some guidance:
What is the minimum recommended setup to play and enjoy the game?
Is it better to start small and expand later, or buy a more complete package from the beginning?
Are there any must-have components or common beginner mistakes to avoid?
Would you recommend starting with 1936 or 1914, and why?
I’m especially interested in advice from players who started recently and learned what works best.
Thanks in advance for any help! -
RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)posted in Welcome
Hi everyone!
My name is Javier, I’m 18 years old and I’m from Spain. I’ve been a big fan of Axis & Allies for a while now, especially Axis & Allies Global 1940. Unfortunately, I don’t have as much time to play as I’d like, and I also don’t have a lot of money to buy games whenever I want, so I usually wait for my birthday or Christmas to get new ones. One thing I really enjoy is thinking about and creating house rules for Global 1940—all kinds of ideas, from small balance tweaks to bigger changes. I’m also very interested in getting into the Global War system, especially Global War 1936, but I’m still not entirely sure about the best way to buy it or where to start.
I’m looking forward to learning from the community, sharing ideas, and hopefully contributing some house rules in the future. Any advice or recommendations are more than welcome!
I also wanted to ask how I can properly post topics or questions to the community. I’d really like to start conversations, work together with other players, and get help resolving doubts or improving ideas, so any guidance on how to do that would be greatly appreciated.
