I think there is general agreement German bombers are awesome. They threaten the Allied Atlantic Fleet in the Channel and off Gibraltar, the Allied Med Fleet, Moscow and Egypt. Having said that not sure buying bombers before you have enough ground troops to push Russia back is a good idea.

I have played a succesfull game where Germany was able to take the West Indies and Strategically bomb Eastern USA

Also your Allied opponent was obviously weak. The German Navy should never have control of the Atlantic.

There are no OOB National Advantages like in Revised, but our Chicago Rules {for AA50-41} has some that you might want to incorporate. Send me a PM with your email if you’d like a copy.

BTW, I love the map changes in AA50 over classic, 2nd and Revised. We loved revised with the community developed house rules set AARe (Enhanced). No OOB AA game, in my humble, somewhat limited experience, has ever been balanced. In other words, with a little tweaking, the games can be balanced, and have other possible strategies other than the usual Race for Berlin/Moscow.

@inveratulo Do you not consider the number of Infantry you start with and value the extra attack point you get for free? Its not math in a vacuum. Look at your assets and buy what best fits and this depends on Nation, Projection, Income level, How close you are to taking his capital, etc. If you can risk a slow walk to Moscow as Germany, Or as UK you buy tanks so you can overrun Japan with a factory in Egypt and India. It depends on the situation alot more than creating units out of a vacuum.

How many of ya’ll play ‘Fortress America?’ I play this game which was released with Axis and Allies in the game master series and is quite popular. It was printed extensively in the 1980’s and reprinted in 2012. If any of you want to see the added section under other games upvote and/or comment, thanks.

NWO is the “New World Order” game on triplea. I just added them for house rules for global 40. So yea digital. Idk who did the artwork for them. Here’s Germany:

I seem to remember one of the gaming sites offering them for the physical board but i couldn’t say for sure. I think maybe @vodot may have made one with a 3d printer but idk

I think that is a little more than most can afford.

@Panzerboy0191 Unfortunately, the WBC no longer supports Axis and Allies (or many wargames these days), mostly due to the shift in nature of that tournament away from wargames and towards more traditional “Euro-games” (think Power Grid, Settlers of Catan, etc.).

However, Greg Smorey hosts A&A events at Origins and Gen Con every year, if you’re in the neighborhood. See @Midnight_Reaper 's post for more details.

Here are some of my pics from my custom Axis and Allies map for a higher IPC game with some zone changes. I wanted to change up the Pacific snce I’ve always thought that the battles between the USA and Japan were always way too early and that the USA and Japan were too close to each other.
I;m not completely done, and I drew it freehand so sorry if it is not pretty, but there you have it. IMG_20200401_121009.jpg

I’m currentley working on an ‘Armageddon’ type of rule set. I decided that in addition to Nuclear rules and other goodies that I wanted zombies. I downloaded the rule book for Zombies and printed it off. It took me about an hour to figure out how to do it without the special cards and tokens. I decided just to put a blank marker under the piece that is a Zombie unit.
Without the cards I have made it so that the Zombies are stationary. Unless, you have the tech that allows you to move one. I decided to treat the chart with the advantages as a research board for my game.
Has anyone else done this?

Ya but every thing is raised +1 across the whole game for AD
So far Allies 3-2
But should be 4-1. Axis had 1 tank in coast city. Allies Didn’t bring enough troops.
It was nice had allies attack St. lo on T4 or 5
Added a few pieces to setup. 3 extra paratroopers and a few tigers late on card and AD@5 I think M1 only. Moved 3 block houses off coast on upper left side of map and put in 2 more against big US beachhead and other one against other US beach head.
This is the map I use.
