@FranceNeedsMorePower I will say I was not into the world championships nor did I knew those existed till I got older. Wow, that’s shocking looks like I learned something knew! :) The issue is differently that I’m not familiar with World Championships. As for that matter I’m not into any Championship of any related sport active. What I mean is for example is sports television programs. Now playing sports abosualty. And by sports I don’t just mean physical logical sports as well. Like chess is a sport just a mind one. Me not being interested in sports on television lead me not to want to dabble into Chess championships. I have a lot of thoughts right now and hopefully they came out clear. Speaking of Chess Championships you should watch this. I think you will enjoy it. Ah but your German right? So you may have to put on subtitles or something.
Thank you, funny video. When pronunciation is as clear and crisp as in this video I don’t have any problems to understand it.
But I would not understand Daryl Dixon without English subtitles however.

Both sides are done to the bitter bone and only have one King left.
Oh, and talking about this: A draw results with King and King versus Knight as it does with King and Bishop versus King, too.
@FranceNeedsMorePower said in 1914 out-of-box rules, SuperbattleshipYamato (Central Powers) vs FranceNeesMorePower (Allies):
@Panther My Father also was part of me getting interested in Chess. It’s a fun game. Now I have had plenty of Stalemates but I don’t feel that should be in the same bucket as draw. Reason for that is because in this scenario He is proposing the idea of calling it a draw because both sides are very good or well maintained. A Stalemate is not that. Both sides are done to the bitter bone and only have one King left. Hopefully my logic makes sense if not I would be happy to better or re-explain it.
When I talk about professional chess I am talking about FIDE Grandmasters with very high ELO numbers. On this level stalemates only rarely occur, if ever.
In any case both situations (stalemate or agreement) in Chess are called “Remis” (or draw), that lead to 0,5 points for White and Black.
@FranceNeedsMorePower
I think it’s not an issue at all. You are young. And you most likely did not have much contact to professional chess (where the draw rate is about 60-80%).
In the 2018 Final - as far as I remember - all draws were agreements of both players that the situation on the board wasn’t to be won by either side.
Your experience is really interesting.
Usually the higher the level of play the higher is the rate of draws in chess.
I remember the World Championship Final games in 2018 when Magnus Carlsen played against Fabiano Caruana. All twelve regular games ended with a draw.

@SuperbattleshipYamato I have played chess a lot, and when I mean a lot I mean my whole childhood. I was a Chess fanatic. I even took chess classes. It was a huge part of my childhood but not once have I have seen or heard of a tie. With other games, maybe, but Chess? Do you mean Chinese Chess or Classic? I mean Classic.

@SuperbattleshipYamato The only way there is a “draw” is if there are two kings.

Welcome to the forum.
You are correct.

@SuperbattleshipYamato said in Play by Email problems:
I’ve had numerous issues with this part of TripleA for a while.
You are not the only one.
This stickied topic that you should read including the linked threads will inform you that these are known problems. The developers are aware that PBEM needs a complete overhaul.
But - as always - this is not expected to happen anytime soon. Time is restricted and priorities might be different.
As @ubernaut says. Try to use mail-addresses from other providers.
@DoManMacgee said in Gen Con 2025 - AAR:
I forget what the appropriate Board for Tournament AARs is so apologies in advance. @Panther just move this wherever it needs to go. I don’t mind.
Totally fine here, as these are AAR about the OOB-game.
Thank you for the write-up. Interesting read.
@SuperbattleshipYamato said in Triple A Support 1914 Improved:
I first downloaded the 1914 Improved version from here:
This is the most important information of all, that had saved us a lot of time and effort if we had known that before. We cannot guess that you used a (maybe outdated) file from a third party download.
We can try to give support only for TripleA with the latest versions of maps installed from within TripleA itself (or at least from the official triplea-maps Github repos).
However, thank you for pointing that out now - as now we have a good reason for the error messages.
I’m closing this topic as completed now.
Also @FranceNeedsMorePower and @SuperbattleshipYamato
please try this savegame and report here what happens:
_2025-8-4-World-War-I-1914-Improved.tsvg
Thank you.
@FranceNeedsMorePower
Please upload the savegame file of the latest attempt - when both of you started with the current (2.7.15133) pre-release and a very new game.
I understood that you received a file from SY that didn’t work. I need exactly this file.
Thank you.
There is no video opening for me. But never mind.
I don’t doubt that there is an issue when you use that file/map/whatever, but as long as no one can reproduce that, there is nothing that can be done codewise and nothing that someone can look into.
I have never used Macs (and never will) so I can’t tell what might be problematic with Macs.
Your screenshot seems to indicate that you did not start the game loading @barnee 's savegame, as the name of the savegame would appear under “Loaded Savegame”.
So what did you do?
This is how it should look:

And you both have the same version of the map installed?
@FranceNeedsMorePower You need to start a brandnew game. You cannot continue with your savegame file.
A savegame contains more or less the complete history of a game. And once an error is introduced into a savegame it is there and stays there. You cannot expect a ‘corrupted’ savegame to be healed by using a different TripleA-version.
