      @djensen
      Done, one more Golden Badge. Happy new year.

      By the way: The Paypal transaction went like a breeze. But after the confirmation of the transaction the redirection to the forum did not work. Paypal showed an error message instead.

      Also - after donating - while my donation is confirmed by “Thank you for your support in 2025!” - the Support Drive Window is still displayed:

    • RE: cheaters

      @Luna Would have been a good idea to write/post what you actually are talking about.

      So I guessed you might refer to Beamdog’s A&A 1942 Online computer game and moved the topic to the respective forum subcategory.

      This is primarily a forum about A&A Boardgames - so please respect the forum categories and don’t post arbitrarily. Thank you.

      @Adm-Spungus-McGee

      From your posting I can guess that you are talking about Beamdog’s ‘A&A1942 Online’?

      I have moved your topic to the respective category for now.

      @JuliusBorisovBeamdog might be able to help.

      @SuperbattleshipYamato

      Nice idea. But I’m confused:

      In the out of box rules for 1942 Second Edition (new), there is no German bomber in Ukraine, it’s in the Berlin territory. It’s a fighter in Ukraine. Can you please clarify this? Thank you!

      This refers to the tournament rules that Larry Harris once published.

      I can’t, sorry.

      can you please link me to someone who can

      IIRC @Krieghund has been part of the team. So it is likely that he will answer.

      I may be wrong, but as the activity within this forum category is close to zero, this game might not be very popular among core A&A players.
      I would be happy to be proven wrong, however.

      @simon33 said in Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2):

      If an unfriendly neutral is attacked but not conquered, I’m pretty sure that enemy air units may land in it without enemy land units to activate it.

      Correct.

      However, I’ve had a look and I can’t see where that is clearly stated in the rules - seems implied but is that it?

      It’s just landing in a friendly territory.

      Rulebook Europe 1940.2 page 11:

      “Unfriendly Neutrals
      …
      When a neutral territory is invaded, it’s no longer considered
      neutral and immediately becomes hostile to the alliance
      of the power that attacked it and friendly to the opposing
      alliance.
      …
      If the attack upon the formerly neutral territory is unsuccessful
      (the territory is not captured), any remaining defending units
      stay in the territory but can’t move. The territory remains
      uncontrolled (place a national control marker on it face
      down to indicate its new status) but is considered friendly to
      powers on the side it’s now allied with.
      Units belonging to
      those powers can move into it and take control of it and its
      remaining units in the same way as if it were a friendly neutral.”

    • RE: new version

      @Stucifer said in new version:

      Most forum games I see on 2.6.?? with a lot of variance in the ?? part of the version number. Basically every small thing that the Triple A team works on gets recorded and stored as a version number, which is why there are so many.

      Exactly. Every small change or adjustment leads to a new pre-release. But only a very, very small fraction is savegame-compatibility breaking.

      Meanwhile we are at 2.7xxxxx. A current problem is that we have been waiting for a new “stable” release for years. But it doesn’t look like this will occur anytime soon. So pre-releases are all we can get right now. Being “stable” is just a tag, a timestamp in development history, however. Pre-releases usually are not “unstable”.

      @Panther I have like 6 versions on my computer rite now. I would like to use 1 but every person has a different version they’re playing. depending who i’m playing i have to switch. if i play with a newer one the person i’m playing with an older one can’t load the newer one. a lot of people don’t want to switch. That’s why i need older versions.

      Understood. I feel for you. However you won’t need exactly the same subversion.
      It’s all about savegame compatibility, while breaking compatibility rarely occurs.

      its like we need a reset so we can get everyone on the same version.

      That would be most preferable. But you can’t force people to do so. So unfortunately we have to live with the consequences.

    • RE: new version

      @Martin said in new version:

      @Panther my experience is that I can’t look at old games with the newer versions.

      You are correct - rarely there are changes that affect savegame-compatibility. This is always indicated in the release notes when it occurs. You need the respective legacy version then.

      What is a annoying is that these old versions immediately upon start complain that they are outdated.

      Well… they are. TripleA doesn’t behave different from many other software that is outdated in this hinsight. Software development usually is an ongoing process.

      Would you have some advice how to look at games from 2019, for example, with version 1.9 without problems? Maybe I should go offline, before starting an old version of TripleA.

      Not sure what exactly you experience, as I am always going exclusively with the latest available version. Please post a screenshot. In case you open an 1.9 compatible savegame with 1.9 you should be able to see it. Your online-status is irrelevant, then.
