I have always wanted to buy a ton of bombers with USA and the way you do it works pretty well, but it comes at a high price. If you had keept moscow a couple of more rounds (which i think you could have, with a little more planning) I am confident I would have lost. What makes your play so potent is that you can land your bombers in china after attacking the japanese and I think there is were the russians come into play, well done

@farmboy I have to agree with you that there were alternative moves that would have better chance of winning. Only ~2% odds for that Tokyo strike. Way higher chance that oysteilo gets diced in a different battle or makes a critical blunder that swings the odds back into the favor for a strong player like Andrew.

China is doing okay; Russia is fine; India will hold out for a while longer. I don’t see this as an inevitable win for the Allies so early in the game with so much room for bad dice and major mistakes.

All right, i will post some comments later, but i just did the same move as you did against simon33 with better luck than you. But its very powerfull to have this many subs as you do, so i had to start buying subs and that saved the day. Simon33 had too few subs with Japan.

@oysteilo I knew that attack was possible and likely was a very good option for you. After the first round of getting diced in Africa, I took a risk to get back into the game since I am fighting a superior opponent. I gambled and lost.

@aequitas-et-veritas i am sorry for my slow reply here. It is always difficult for the allies when they lose Egypt and India early. Egypt was lucky but always go for it if you are offered a 30-35% chance. It is always worth it.

India caused more problems for me tgan i thought. I think that maybe was a mistanke, but it also protects Egypt, so i am not sure. But hard going for Japan

@oysteilo well played - I am afraid I need to give up. There is no way I can free the UK, and without the UK, the Allies are way too week. India will fall, and I would even need to defend the US with strong Japanese and German Navies in reach.

I guess my main mistake was not too play Russia aggressively once I noticed that you go for Sealion. The Russian transport was a waste. It should have been placed in SZ127, but I shouldn’t have bought it in the first place. And it appears I forgot to block SZ104 with an American transport. Too many mistakes…

All right, i agree it looks hard for the allies now. It was great playing you and good luck in future games. As for this game, you need (i think) to be a little more aggressiv with Russia. You have planes sitting moscow doing nothing for several rounds

The dice didn’t matter for my last russian turn. Too many german units in cauc and more coming while America does nothing on both sides of board

I can’t handle version 2.x because of grainy graphics, bug calculator, and annoying useless windows.

Please start a new game in 1.9 if you want to play. At least it has only one annoying window.

@oysteilo Yeah tough to let Germany loose like that, I did great in Pac for the expense of Europe Grr, lots of learning still do to! Well me and dawg messaged and he is suppose to get the game started soon… hopefully.

@J-o-C I’ve been considering trying attacking the neutrals, mostly for the helluva it. Thanks for laying out thoughts. As far as multi-national forces sequenced, I’m considering sending in U.K. forced into Saudi’s Arabia if conditions permit. Also, ANZAC on Argentina As a capper, maybe Chile also but Argentina first.

Sweden would be tough to get as Allies unless already in Norway so might Axis taking it might the cost of opening Spain and Turkey and make you commit to invading Europe form the south, not necessarily a bad thing.

I think the point is to save time in global games. By far round 1 is the slowest round because you are shuffling and merging and re-stacking everything. Even though you more or less know the set up after a few games it takes time because there are units everywhere. This is very much true for Germany, Russia and japan but goes for all other nations too. For france you set up a bunch of units which are removed instantly.

After Round 1, there are units in maybe half of the initial territories and this must save a lot of time.
