      Really unusual opening there @pacifiersboard. It looked like Allies were doomed. Winning that 36% battle in the Med handily brought the Allies back.

      Very interesting game!

      I feel I was completely outplayed. But that battle was a huge win for me. It appears that pacifersboard had a 40% chance on Egypt, but it failed. From there it will be tough going for the axis

      yes, correct. However, if Paris is liberated then the normandy factory will turn french, but not before. So a typical scenario is that USA capture Normandy from axis and start producing own units from next round

      @Mursilis I dont think @regularkid and @Adam514 are interested in changing anything about BM right now and that is fine. The discussion about who has the advantage in BM3 is as long as this thread!

      I think Axis are overpowered by a good margin in BM3, but maybe that is more because I play Allies incorrectly. I dont know. It can also be that it is much easier to play the Axis than the Allies and a competent Axis player will always make life difficult for any Allied player. So maybe it is as simple as this. I dont know

      China

      “At the start of China’s turn, a Chinese infantry is spawned in each non-coastal Chinese territory under Axis control that is not garrisoned by at least one Axis land unit (i.e., infantry, marine, mech infantry, artillery, or armor). These “guerrillas” engage in combat wherever they are spawned and may not be moved until China’s next turn.”

      Does this mean an AA gun prevents the spawn? I don’t think so, but it must be considered a land unit. Please clearify!

      This is somewhat premature as i have played the mode once.

      I think it does some things good and offers a different solution to the oob problem for global 2nd ed compared to BM3.

      Good things: it takes money away from the axis, germany, this means games last shorter than Bm. where 20 + rounds seems the standard. Personally i like russia much better in oob compared to bm and when you take money away from Germany russia becomes more fun too

      Bad things

      Might become to static as it becomes very tempting to go after Norway

      In short

      Germany gets +3 for Novgorod, russia, caucasus and volgograd.
      Russia gets an extra fighter and a tank

      No other changes. Probably it is not enough if many games are played

      It’s taamvan mode and the mode is available on triple a. I encorage others to try it.

      Anzac

      In normal games with USA presence: Anzac should be the most aggressive nation in the whole game.

      Buy subs, (one destroyer and 1 bomber) transports and men to put on the transports. No IC in queensland for the first 10 rounds

      Also have anough Anzac fighters for a max scramble, typicaaly queensland or carolines

      Easy as that

      since the topic of doing changes to BM has been brought up…Even though I am critical in many of my posts regarding BM, BM is fixing many things that are not so good about the out of box version. Its become more balanced, it has even increased playability in some ways. But it also creates new problems that is becoming more and more obvious to me. Many games lasts 25+ rounds. Thats fun when it happens once or twice but when it “happens all the time” it becomes too much work and less enjoyable in my book.

      Is this something the mod squad (and everyone else) thinks is a good thing?

      I have some comments/questions

      1. Same units have different in game value is a great point I think. Take German AA guns in Russia defending an inf or two vs american AA guns in central usa…
      2. You say you match Russia with bombers vs Germany? Why? I have never in a single game both more than 1 russian bomber, in most games 0. I buy a tac from time to time. two bombers = 8 inf. Hmmmm
      3. If anzac can send fighters to India/middle east, then yes, buy as many as you can. If not 3 fighters are enough. The rest is transports, men and subs (+1 destroyer)
      4. In BM syria is a great position for an airbase. One move to Moscow, and India and protects egypt sz. However, it is not easy to pull off most of the time
      5. Good point about middle east factories should always produce at full. I am not sure that persia is the ideal spot. It is much harder to defend Persia than say Iraq. I agree Persia is tempting early game. I think it is a weaker spot middle to late game, when Germany breaks past Rostov
      6. Many good points. Personally I almost always sacrifies a transport UK1 to put two men on gibraltar. If you are not carefull gibraltar will become an axis stronghold. It is costly for the axis, but also very nice for Italy and it is a pain to deal with for the allies

      I just made som quick calculations about game statistics. I have looked at the last 50 games finished. I have excluded some games that was surrendered very early, its not more than 2 or 3 games anyway

      I found the average bid was 8 (allies) and out of 50 games the axis won 31 and the allies 19. This is a 62:38 ratio. 50 games might be too few games, but it definately gives an indication I think

      Yesterday i posted about game lenght. 5 games went for 20 rounds or longer and the longest is 35 rounds. So maybe this is not a big deal and it is just my style that is the problem as many of my games tend to be long.

Despite that, I think I should’ve landed more german air in Rome instead of Bessarabia, anticipating this.

      I agree with this, given this result my french sucide mission looks pretty good now, 1 hit would be a big deal

      I agree. I think you can consider dutch territories the same way as french. Japan can declare war against uk/anzac and still be at peace with France, the same goes with the dutch

      Correct.

      I don’t think the marines were particularly well advised due the uncomfortable fit they have in the game mechanics. They don’t really add much, although they do make some of the island hopping encouraged by the new NOs easier to get.

      I agree with this simon33. Marines are useful for Japan and partially sometimes for Italy. I see people buy marines with germany and 5 rounds later the marine is still sitting in western germany. This happens among players at all tiers

      crazy is probably wrong wording, its a very risky move, The average result would be 2 bombers remaining. I would live with that. The actual result is probably comparable to battleship and 2 fighters living or maybe even better. I think you were supposed to be about +20. ended up with +70 something

      Now it will be difficult for the allies, I judged the average result would be difficult for axis, so much for that!

      If you scramble from London you have 3 fighters, a tac and a bomber remaining in Europe. Fighters are in scotland, gibraltar and malta

      I say in order to do Taranto you need 3 fighters, 1 tac, 1 bomber and the ships. The consequence then is to use the cruiser in 91 against the destroyer and transport in 96 or skip Taranto all together. Hence my claim that scrambling 110 means you cant do Taranto

      Taranto works best (or even only works) if you also take out 96

      Of course you can go for the 2 fighter, 1 tac and 1 bomber option but you are risking a lot by doing so
