Alpha 3.5posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I’m confused on a few things. When Larry made the changes from the original alpha 3 version, did he get rid of the Italian destroyer and transport off of the N. African coast? I have setup charts from here that doesn’t include those.
Also my friends are interpriting in the rules that the AA gun rule is one per plane per aa gun, or 3 per aa gun whichever is the lesser. So if you are attacking with 2 planes, and there are 3 aa guns you should roll 6 dice. 2 for each aa gun, or if you are attacking the same amount with 10 planes it is 9 rolls. I’m interpriting them as it is one per plane, or 3 per aa gun. So if you were attacking with 2 planes and defending with 3 aa guns, it would only be 2 dice. If you were attacking with 10 planes it would be 9.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks '34

Thats what the actual acronym is.
AC: Aircraft Carrier
BB: Battleship
DD: Destroyer
AP: Transport
CA: Cruiser (Heavy)
SS: Submarine
CL: Cruiser (Light)I think these are it anyway

When the Germans start going around moscow, push a small amount of your units around to attack, or begin pushing back west. If Germany spreads out, that leaves an opprotunity for you.

RE: Brits in the Pacificposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I usually move units into china and declare war on Japan. Those two victory cities on the coast of china are almost essential for Japan to win. Usually I build mechanized Infantry so if need be I can move them back to Calcutta.

Infantry and Artillary combo, while pulling back to a secondary line for counter attack. I would play similar to I play china, which is to not stack everything on the front line, so you can destroy his ground forces without worrying about an airforce. Just my thoughts.

What do you mean by second edition of pacific? Is that just reprinted with alpha 3.5?

RE: Russia's Eastern troopsposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Stack them on Amur and wait for Japan to ignore/forget about them, then attack.
The problem I see in this is that Japan can use their huge air force on this one stack, and then no defenses. If you don’t stack them, when Japan attacks they will probably take ground casualties. If left unstacked, you could counter attack those ground forces left, without the threat of air force to wipe you out.

RE: Dealing with USA in the Pacificposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
From what it sounds, I would purchase more destroyers and even though it is hard, take them as the latter casualties so you can hit the subs still with your aircraft. You could also clear out their fleet off the west coast and place your units there so you could destroy those subs as soon as they spawn, but it would possibly be better to attack the subs since they defend on a 1. Hope this helps

Reprinting Pacificposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
are they reprinting the pacific game like they are reprinting the europe game? I’m assuming they are since they need to update the setup. Any rumors on this?

National Objectiveposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Does anyone have a set of national advantages for the Alpha 3 setup? I’ve seen national objectives but so far they’ve been conflicting with the alpha 3 setup. Any help would be appreciated.

Japan doesn’t have to do pearl harbour to bring the U.S. into the war. If they make an unprovoked decleration of war against U.K. or anzac, invades FIC, or invades D.E.I.

The one for the Bragging Rightsposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
This weekend, my playgroup and I will be having a gigantic match, maybe two if we have the time. I was playing as the U.S. and want some pointers.
By the way, which ever side wins this match has bragging rights over the other for a long time. I really want to shut up the German player because we never finish a game and he always boasts he can conquer america.

ANZAC and U.S.posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Is ANZAC allowed to land fighters on the Phillipeens before either country is at war (in our games Japan usually waits until turn 3 or 4 and launches a massive frontal assault in all directions)? So they are only at war with china, and to help out the Phillipeens, I wanted to land my anzac fighters there, but my friends protested against it.

RE: SBR to assist Barbarossaposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I played a game once where the U.S. and Britain worked together and bombed like 15 damage to both of their major ICs. It was hilarious cause after they repaired them, we hit again and Germany fell down hard. But hitting russia can work, but watch those rolls of 1’s for aa guns and the low rolls for the bombers.
