      @Imperious:

Yes they have no army, so you can just invade it and its yours with its 2 IPC, but i think that would be fought over by UK because its close to her own oil centers.

      IL:

Yes they have no army, so you can just invade it and its yours with its 2 IPC

      is correct.

but i think that would be fought over by UK because its close to her own oil centers.[/[/quote]

Only in the 1939 version.  The 1942 version does not have oil centers. BTW, why were the oil centers not added to 1942.  They add a extra level oof strategy to the game.

    • RE: Diplomacy

“USA can get the income by conquest” is the problem I was looking for.

Can UK then invade Saudi Arabia and “get the income by conquest” with no resistance.

If this true I don’t see the point of it being neutral.

Under AARHE rules, UK/US can not be aggressive and invade neutral countries.  But a -3 to -5 country is NO LONGER neutral.  They are friendly to the enemy.

The way I finely understood all of this was to think of it this way:  I can take over a country by military force or diplomatically.  If I’m right in my assessment, then maybe we need to add a country marker to all neutrals at a +/- 3 to avoid confusion.

let me also add one more senerio:  If the US/UK took a -3 neutral from Germany and it was then liberated by either italy or Japan, would it go back to Germany or stay with the latest country to conquer it?

    • RE: Checklists for Dummies (AARHE 4.0)

Also of note in the “Diplomacy” turn, if your capital is under enemy control “Diplomacy” is skipped (pg 3. under “Turn Sequence”). I guess this is really implied in the decision box of “Conduct Diplomacy Rolls” – I can’t think of another reason that I wouldn’t roll.

Just might want to make it “Idiot-Proof” and spell it out.

good idea.  I’ll update the chart.

Hrmm.  I don’t know how messy this will get, but do we want to provide easy references to page numbers on the charts?

Also like your idea of page numbers.  By the time we are done, there is going to be a number of pages that might need an index???  The page numbers should be the same graphic and placement each page.  May I suggest that once we are done, one person collects all PPT and uses the master set up for page numbers, any background images, anything else that needs to be consistent.

IL - it was just a joke :-)  I am following your lead and buying one from the same location.  I trust your judgment.

    • RE: Checklists for Dummies (AARHE 4.0)

Here is page 1 version 1 of the flow chart for diplomacy. It will end up two pages.  BW - this is a lot harder than it looks :-)

Here are the fine points to discuss after you look at the chart.  Please advise to any format changes or BW can take it from here to revise for consistancy.

      Rules for discussion:

      1.  If neutral territory and units go to Team “B” if attacked by “A", does  “B” replace the units with his own and conducts the battle?
      2.  If Germany hits on both dice – does it get 2 moves?  I don’t think it should as this could move neutrals to one side very quickly
      3.  Several posts have been written re: can player with 2 rolls target 2 different neutrals.  Last discussion was a no.  What is final answer?

Bierwagan:  Should the flow of attacking neutrals go on your combat chart or the diplomacy chart.  It is discussed under diplomacy in AAHRE 4.0

Aughhhhh!  it won’t let me upload PTT files.

Krupp:  I refered to your post incorrectly [sorry] but the description I posted is correct.  In fact, I found the same description on Several sites offering a pre-order for AA Aniversery.  Based on the prices, I gotta think that they are using the wrong ad description?  At least I hope.  I don’t know any other AA game going for $100 retail!

A steal for you guys and gals across the big pond! :-)

    • RE: LHTR armor blitz

      BW:

You may have answered your own question for AARHE.  I am in the league games and needed a LHTR answer.  I cant understand how other players play 3-4 different games each with slightly or radically different rules and keep them all straight. :-)

Yes AARHE rides on top of LHTR, “AARHE is intended to provide historical realism to the board game Axis and Allies Revised and is designed
to work on top of LHTR 2.0. Game rules not covered are addressed under LHTR.” [AARHE Rules 5-08-08 version 4.0]

In your combat flow chart, you already state a specific AARHE rule: Armor can blitz through empty/friendly territories

However, I think you are correct that it can’t after being transported.  Also refer to another answer I just got:
      –------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quote from: oldsalty on Today at 09:10:04 pm
LHTR rules. Pls advise.  During combat move, can an armor be transported to a friendly territory, off loaded, move (blitz) through the friendly territory and attack an adjacent unfriendly territory?

      thanks.

“Not a legal move in any version of A&A (first, second, CD-Rom or Revised (OOB) or LHTR)” [from Axis-Roll, the Spring 2008 Singles champion (Gold medalist)]

So, I think the transported armor doesn’t move after being unloaded.

      Bierwagan:

Truely a work of art.  As an ex-Six Sigma Green Belt (in my first life) this is right up my alley and will be a huge benefit to our group as we struggle through all the nuances of the game.  Especially with all the curves IL and Tekkyy throw at us just when we think we’ve got it :-D

Anyway, I was planning to outline some of the sections myself (just bullets on lined paper - not the level you did - as it helps me understand the details.

Therefor, I would be happy to help you outline a section or two.  I could not do the graphs justice but i could send you a draft if you are interested.  Let me know.

Sure.  Never played Triple A but have downloaded it and it looks a lot better than BM.  Like to give it a try.  My old sea eyes cant see the difference between pieces in the Battle Map.

Liked to try AAA.  You playing league?  Use standard league rules?

    • Comparing "Old Glory" and "Skytrex" Infantry Pieces

Now that I have a large custom map, I want to upgrade the pieces.  Based on discussions I’ve read, the best for infantry units is either “old glory” or “Skytrex”.  Is there a preference by anyone due to quality, pricing or service?

The current USD against the British Pound or Euro makes them somewhat more pricey for me than for my comrads across the pond, so I’m trying to find a US distributor for either.

I’ve pretty much decided on Skytrex Minis for armor, ships and planes.  Although, can’t imagine the total $$$ for a set large enough to staff the large AAHRE map.  And then on top of that have them custom painted like some of you do.

Maybe, I’ll start charging our play group monthly dues or rent seeing that they only want to play on “MY” board now :-P
