    • RE: AARHE "Official" piece colors

Mine will be the same at 6’ x 3’.  I was thinking of getting hard material but cut in (2) 3’ x 3’ sections.  Just so I don’t have to deal with multiples.

I also plan on getting - if possible - a 6 in border across the top and bottom.  I did that to the one I made by printing 11 x 14" sheets and taping on posterboard.  Makes a nice spot to keep play units and materials, cards, etc.

This is good stuff IL:  Thanks!!!

I have the printer you get your game boards printed at.  How do your 6 sections lock together so they are squared up and don’t move or do you just butt them together?

Any reason why I would not want to get two sections instead of six, if transporting is not a problem?

    • RE: Global War 1940/41

What program can I edit the map with?  Would like to make a 1939 version but can’t use CS2.  All I want to do is recolor some of the territories.  I’ve also added unit icons for set up to existing map.

Be happy to share once completed.

    • AARHE Player's Set Up Aids - IL… Need Your Help

      IL:

Do you have the AARHE nation set up aids.  They are awesome!  Would like to use them for the 1939 set up but I can’t separate the set up chart from the background graphics.  Can you give me the back ground in either .png or better yet….ai ?

    • RE: Checklists for Dummies (AARHE 4.0)

Here is an example set up chart for eveyone’s preview.  Each nation will have their map section in the background.

The turn sequence on the left needs to be changed.  I’ll do that as soon a Beirwagan finishes the outline so we are the same.

    • AARHE 1939 map discrepancies with player set up charts

There are a few discrepancies between the 1939 map with set ups and player set up charts in the 1939 rules.

      1.  France listed w 6 infantry set up charts:  4 on map
      2.  UK shows only Factory in Canada and Australia on 1939 set up charts:  map adds factory in UK and India.

There may be more, this is the most obvious.  I assume the map is correct.  are there updated set ups?  The one I’m refering to is on the download dated 3-08. http://home.exetel.com.au/cometo/aarhe/

Also, on the 1939 map, the UK starts with a factory in India.  This gives UK 4 factories.  Should the UK have a factory in India, particularly in 1939?  Did India have such capability in producting ships, planes, armor etc that early?  I’d rather see UK required to build one.

    • RE: AARHE National Advantages Revision

IL> Good job.  IMHO I like your first layout a little better.  http://www.mediafire.com/?vexopu0vbv1  The pitchers stand out more and is not so covered by the Name and nation icons.  Even here, I would make the nation icons somewhat smaller.

Suggestion:  Minimize the “AARHE” and nation icons.

      Bierwagan

      welcome back!

Warweb is offering 40% off their Old Glory miniatures infantry packs (50 pieces) which are the same as Skytrex (Old Glory is the USA distributed name for Skytrex).  Their sale price is $8.40 per pack.  Can’t beat that price.  Unfortunately, they don’t carry all of Skytrex products.

Based in IL’s advice, I ordered UK infantry (split USA,UK); German Infantry (split Germany/Italy); Russia Infantry ( split Russia, Neutrals) and Japan Infantry (Split Japan, China).  I’ll wing France but they won’t need much.

Go here to see pics of Skytrex Infantry packs:  http://www.skytrex.com/

I opened the Jan 10 files and they look fine.  If there are no changes after that, I’m good to go.

I looked in AARHE map files and the main files for AARHE maps and player aids.  The 1939 maps were in png and pdf.  Not .ai

    • RE: AARHE National Advantages Revision

Thanks.  Those are going to be a big help.  Here is Russia’s NA cards w/graphics for review.  Also, 1939 set up w/graphics.  If this is consistant for AARHE handouts, I’ll continue.  Disregard Play sequence on left side of set up.  This will change when Bierwagan finishes the outline.

need to do in three posts due to size:

    • RE: AARHE 1939 Version British-French Alliance

unless our German player is being too cautious, France has been very difficult.  At 15 IPC they generate 7 inf in their capital per turn.  I think Germany has too much along the Russian front for the 1st couple turns when Russia has no threat.

We will need to change Germany’s tactic and see what happens.

    • AARHE 1939 Version British-French Alliance

In 1939 version, during the first turn, is there any restriction of British forces landing in France to help slow down German occupation?

This happened in our last game and there are some questioning it. Personnally, I think I would rather reinforce Africa or India with British troops, but that’s me.
