How much would the game be changed if fighters could only defend on a three (basically a flying tank)? Would this see more naval action, would less money be spent on fighters, or would fighters be phased entirely out because they were a bad purchase? I would love to hear opinions and analysis on this matter.

RE: News flash: AXIS & ALLIES ANNIVERSARY EDITION due out oct 23 08
That of course would translate to you taking pictures of the board for us and posting them here.

RE: Reinforcements?
@ncscswitch:
ARM from Caucuses that did NOT engage in combat can move in NCM and roll through the recently occupied Persia to a friendly India.
Oh, I thought you were referring to the armor that attacked Persia.

RE: A&A Deluxe Edition
I read the other thread. I was just wondering if the two were the same.
Thanks.

RE: Reinforcements?
@ncscswitch:
Jen is correct.
If India was “friendly” to the units in Caucuses, then an NCM of units from Caucuses to India after WINNING in Persia is completely legal.
I thought units can’t move in both phases, except aircraft.

RE: Countering Operation Sea Lion
What about bidding an extra transport in the Baltic?

RE: Who played good, who played bad, show me show me!!!
Thanks Darth. Definitely looks like a great game. I guess I need to figure out how to prolong my games as well. I usually fall around 8 or 9 and it gets frustrating to say the least.
Adding ghost units to your capital typically will extend the game.

RE: Countering Operation Sea Lion
And of course, if the Russian fighters are in London, it gives your forces on the Eastern Front better odds in getting attacked.
That is, they won’t be as destructive against you.

RE: Another Noob Question, Regarding Friendly Territories and fighters
It is considered controlled at the end of the country’s turn.
As for the US, what you want to do is get a total of 8-10 transports, and split them into two groups equally. Send one group to Sz1 or Sz2, the other to any seazone (preferably Sz6) between Britain and Europe. Send land units from Eastern US to Eastern Canada. Take the units from here and drop them in Britain with the the first group of transports. With the second, drop the US forces somewhere in Europe. This way, the U.S. will have many forces on the ground, rather than a just a few.

RE: Japan vs the Rest of the World
Japan will never win this scenario if they have an inferior income.

RE: Submarine vs Carrier
The carrier gets a chance to defend itself.
You would retreat, not submerge, after the carrier shot back, because the retreat phase follows the rolling phase of the combat turn.
Basically, after opening fire is done, normal combat commences. Your sub shot during opening fire, and there are no “conventional” attacks from your side. However, the carrier gets to roll its defense roll, as it is part of normal combat. After each round of normal combat you can retreat attacking units, in this case the submarine.

RE: Ron Paul
@Cmdr:
I stand by my statement. McCain is a more radical Bush. If you do not like what Bush has done, you will definitely not like what McCain will do.
They are both pro-Amnesty
They are both pro-Stem Cells
They are both pro-Choice
They are both pro-Environment
They are both pro-Big Military and the use of that militaryRon, unfortunately, hasn’t the slightest chance in hell of getting the Republican nomination. But if McCain does get it, Ron has an AWESOME chance of getting elected as the first Libertarian President in the History of the United States primarily because people like me, conservatives that is, will vote for Paul before McCain or Clinton. Heck, the polls even show that McCain’s supporters are primarily comprised of people who describe themselves as liberals. That should be a huge red flag right there.
Pauls supporters are primarily people who consider themselves conservative. (Same with Romney, btw.)
Bush Pro-Stem cells?
I guess his veto of that bill is irrelevant.

RE: Sub Question
So all the British navy engages the sub if you wish to unload in Leningrad.
-
RE: Sub Question
Just treat it as a standard naval battle. Since he placed it there, I believe he is actually considered attacking, and thus everything shoots back in the sea zone. I could be wrong, though.
-
RE: Sub Question
You would technically be attacking the sea zone with a transport, in which case, it would lose. Escorting it is necessary.
-
RE: Noob Question Regarding Land Units VS Air Units and Submerged Subs
Planes work like normal units, only they fly.
If you have one fighter vs. 30 infantry and 30 tanks, then the fighters will roll once, kill a unit, and they annihilated by the return fire of the 30 infantry and 30 tanks.

RE: Thoughts on Japanese Strategy
Most people alter the B-29 rule because it becomes really unbalancing.
Edit: Hitting Pearl is almost always important as Japan. Never neglect it. Although there are different levels of units you can use to achieve this, never ever forget it.
If you download TripleA, you can see the starting configurations of Japan.
