AARHE didn’t have fuel. AARHE 1939 map had though.

To save you the trouble here’s that list.

Balkans, Caucasus, Kazakh, Saudi Arabia, Persia, East Indies, Borneo, Venezuela, Eastern United States, Central United States.

      Imperious LeaderI

yes so to fix that you have hexes for land and spaces for sea, but the problem with that is the issue of national borders because pieces of both sides would technically be able to co-exist in the same hex.

That is the only reason why GMT makes ‘point to point’ movement maps… because they hate ‘area movement maps’

They hate them because its not a solution THEY came up with, but Larry Harris would take the credit because any area movement map that has been offered since 1980 owes its existence to larry.

Additionally, GMT are lazy sods because they have tons of photoshopped maps they didn’t even make and simply draw boxes on these maps and finish in a days work. Its totally disengenious of them among other things.

The other poster is correct about the ocean because the world is round and it should be harder to travel along the center, then at the ends. Hexes standardizes movement but does not offer a realistic solution to the earths round surface.

Great thought! I will play test!

Just had another thought, if you wanted to eliminate dice, you could setup a rock/paper/scissors type game using those Units

Infantry defeat fighters/tanks, lose to artillery/bombers
Tanks defeat artillery, or other tanks
Fighters defeat bombers/tanks but lose to infantry/artillery (imbedded aa guns)

That type of concept anyways.  It would take some thinking through , more than this post from my cellphone haha but would be possible!

      Mr GhoulM

I like those card options. I was thinking on how one to use the card driven game machanic for A&A.

I’m not sure if anyone here has played a CDG before like “Paths of Glory WW1”, “Barbarosa to Berlin WW2”, “The Napoleonic wars” or “Sword of Rome”. But, everthing you do is based on the cards in your hand. If you want to move a unit you have to use a card. When you battle, cards in your hand may give you an advantage. There are event cards that reflect what happened in history but the time there are played may not be historical. There are  respond cards that negate or cancel a previous played card.

Cards act as resources and you have to manage them well, because, once you are out of them you may be in trouble. The geneal idea is that you can’t do everything you want in one turn. Like, “Do I activate this army to attack a key city or do I use the event to gain an advantage the next turn”. Things like that.

I’ll post some additional ideas later.
