Finally good to see someone showing Al Gore to be wrong.  Seriously I have no idea how that guy bases his arguments when it has been proven that 3 Volcaneos have produced more pollution then all of mankind has ever.  Seriously give global warming up.  If it does exist it is not caused by humans.  And if it is happening when is it going to happen so I can start buying good property in Canada.

    • RE: Rule

Airplanes can attack ships.  Destroyer is needed if you want to attack Subs.

As for invading England it is possible.  I have done it before.  Those first 12 IPCs you get, can easily go for a destroyer for the Germans.  Following that.  You need to take the convoys in the Atlantic.  You should have a good amount of land units as it already in the game.  I suggest just mainly buying transports with perhaps a destroyer here and there depending what the UK does.  Besides Destroyers give you that nice bombardment which according to the rules I have is 3 or less. (I think in 2nd edition rules it is “2” or less).  Either way when you know you have more forces then what is currently on the UK, send your airforce and units in.  In the mean time before that just keep sending units accross the channel to keep the UK forces down.

In short you have to be very careful.  Usally if you cannot take UK quick enough the USSR will take you over.  For me it comes down to being 1 turn for victory or defeat.

    • RE: So the theory of gravity is bunk?

Science is completely useless and meaningless.

      Take this for example.

Dave conducts and experiment and gets the following results:  1,3,5,7

Dave now constructs a law off that.  It happens to be X+2.  You keep adding 2 to get the next number.

However Susan saids no, that is wrong.  It goes by prime numbers.  Hence the next number is 11 not 9 as Dave proposes.

Finally a thrid person saids, no both of those people are wrong.  I can graph this thing and claim that the real results are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 hence the next number is 8.  Dave did not find enough information to justify his results.

Yet a fourth person saids, well I have another theory.  How about 1,3,5,7 then 10,13,16,19.  For the first 4 numbers you add 2.  For the second 4 numbers you add 3 and so on and so further.

Notice how each of these theories all explains the same data and can all be right.  Sure you can do more tests and find more points.  But no matter how much info you find, there will be an infinite number of possible theories to explain and account for those points.

Hope you are ready for all of the expenses of having a child.

Just what society needs, another individual to pay for my social security and fight to protect my freedom.  Cool.  Thanks for having a childing so I do not have to fight or work until death.

    • RE: How discouraging…

I still hold that people are inheritally born evil.  No one is honest or good when they are born.  Instead society moldes them into stuff.

Elementary School - Brainwashing phase.  If you do not agree with 100% of the teacher and conform you are outcasted and placed in special education for not getting along with the teachers.
Junior High School - Reenforce Elementary School.
High School - Waste of time and energy.  A period to keep people busy for no reason.
College - A bigger waste than High School.  Same as High School but easier and costs money.  Some degree of being able to question professors and teachers.  Mainly however no.

In the end society likes to brain wash you into thinking that you are on the normal path and that whatever authority saids is correct.  Notice how they do not teach reasoning skills or critical thinking until usally about College and that is if you take a philosophy class.  Mainly point in hand.  Do not believe anyone unless they ground what they say to some strong logical reason.  I question my teachers all of the time, same with authority.  It is suprising how many times you can find things that they do wrong.

    • RE: Battleship rules

Perhaps if there was some way of having to have the damage repaired being a cost to the player.  Otherwise if I a person just has a couple more units, they could easily take more hits.

Better yet why not resolve all combat by playing the actual game of battleship but by putting in more ships and having a bigger grid.  Make it so that you get one guess on the grid for each ship that you have in the combat.  With attacker going first.

    • RE: AARHE 1939 map and rule files

Shouldn’t Eire be more towards the Axis side.  To my knowledge Ireland hated the UK.  To my knowledge they would have helped Germany in an operation sea lion battle.

Other than that, from what I have seen it looks pretty good to me.

    • The Ultimate Map

Okay here is my goal.  Have no idea when I will be able to create such a thing.  But I think it is possible.

Here is what I want to do:
      1. 10 foot by 4 foot map or so.
      2. Hexagon spaces
      3. Introduce micro management rules to make the game more tatical.  For example railroad lines through certain hexagons could allow one to move faster.
      4. At least 100 spaces between Berlin and Moscow.

So anyhow my biggest question, is how does one go about creating a hexagon map?  Is there some special program or way of doing it?

I hate people who think you can just believe something for no reason.  If you cannot provide a logical reason, then I see no point in taking or listening to what you are saying.

What are you guys even talking about?  Please point to me as to what makes this thing you talk about true?  Where is this idea of the world ending?  I do not see it anywhere.  I am looking out the window and I see no indication of possible future events.

This is the reason why I only date smart women and women who are richer then me.  That way in a divorce I win out.

My Guide for women in terms of importance.
      1. Smart
      2. Finanically equal or better then me.
      3. Looks

I am only 20 years old and I already know that everything needs to be in writing.  Never trust anything someone saids unless it is in writing.  That way you have a legal case and can use it for support.

Not so much for your situation but some general advice for life in general.

    • RE: How to use Russia Restricted

      @ncscswitch:

      I see Bashir gaining 2 wins…

This not about who wins or not.  This is an experiment to see if the Axis can win with no bid.  From my experience they win pretty often.  So I am interested to see if it is just the people I play against or perhaps I have a very efficent game strategy that allows for it to happen.

      @Bashir:

I going on holiday for a week, but after that I will play you twice if you want… First you can be the axis and me the Allies without a bid. After that game I will give you a bid of 21 for a PowerAsia… How do you like that?

How would we do this?  Is there some on-line program or something?

    • RE: Life & Love

My advice never get married unless it involves some long legal document that sets everything out.  Keep all bank accounts seperated.

Other than that I do not believe in love.  I do not think anyone can really have a connection to someone else.  The very idea is beyond me.  I have been studying it for years yet alone trying to figure out this thing people call love.  When I go out with a girl, I never have a connection or this feeling that people say exists.

Perhaps it because I am the kind of guy that needs a rational explanation for everything.  I will not just take things on faith or because someone said it.  I would like to say that by having that trait it makes me wise.  However it makes some aspects of life hard.

In short, love does not exist.  Do not fool yourself.  And forget about women.

    • RE: How to use Russia Restricted

What is everyone talking about here.  I use to play Axis and Allies during my Freshman year of college against experienced players and the Axis would win with no bids and no Russia restricted.  I played as Japan, and it did not matter what Germany did.  I played 2 to 3 times and everytime the Axis won.  Then again I was Japan.

Point being I do not see how the Axis need such a high advantage.  Please give me 21 IPCs to start off as an addition to Japan.  I can easily see myself taking, India, China, and Russia all on turn 1.  Plus with that much starting IPCs.  I may even be able to Austriala (I know misspelling).  Point being as Japan I would have a huge IPC increase on turn 1 and start my march towards Moscow.

As for Sahara if you have no rules about it.  My suggestion remove it.  I always thought it to be silly to have it on the map.
