RE: GLOBAL MAP AVAILABILITY FOR MOUNTING AT HOMEposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Italians weren’t that strong during ww2, but they sell great magnets!
Try this company, they work great for this project (And I’m totally doing it!) –> http://www.supermagnete.it/eng/index.php?adwords_it_ita_brand&gclid=CInZt46ct6YCFcKCDgodkU3-IQ <–Nimitz, what kind of iron sheet did you buy?

RE: Neutral Blocksposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I think you guys can still make home rules if you feel this neutral blocks thing so important.
Let’s remember that this is already a very long game and adding rules and rules may make it longer and longer!
I love playing Axis, and I think attacking true neutrals can bring nice advantages.
- You can invade gibriltar from Spain, without any ship.
- You can place an airport in Spain, and if you have 3 fighters in Spain with an airpot, 3 fighters in Gibriltar and the Italian Fleet in sea zone 91, the Allies will have a very hard time entering the med. So you can focus your land defences in Spain, France and Germany. (I usually leave Normandy and Belgium empty).
- Japan can attack South America True Neutrals and annoy the US.

RE: Alpha.2 game need axis playerposted in Find Online Players
For some reasons my Abattlemap crashes when I load the map I downloaded from this thread.
I tried to download maps from other threads in order to check if they’d work, and they don’t.
I guess it’s a problem with windows vista (And in this PC I’m forced to keep this OP).
If I don’t find a solution I guess we won’t be able to play. I’m trying to find info on the internet but I’m failing! /sob -

RE: Alpha.2 game need axis playerposted in Find Online Players
If you don’t mind a newbie to the PBF format but a decent player to the boardgame version (global 40 of course) I am in.
I already have played 2 IRL games of the new Alpha.2.
Let me know ;)

RE: An Easy Italian Fixposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I like the dow “fix”.
Btw, historically Taranto attack didn’t do much damage to the Italian fleet.
The only thing Taranto attack did was inspiring the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor, and when they did the americans convenientely “didn’t notice” the attack BUT the most important ships (the CVs) where OUT at that precise moment. There are people that think roosvelt knew about Pearl Harbor and liked the idea of it in order to get the consensus of declaring war to the axis.
After 8 september '43 the navy was ordered to go to Malta, and Roma was sunk by the Germans. -
RE: AAG40 FAQposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Another question about scrambling:
Let’s say I have 10 fighters in Japan and an american fleet attack me with an anphibious assault trough SZ6. Can I scramble just 1 fighter in order to avoid bombardment?
Thanks!

Question:
if Japan is under attack from sea zone 6 and I don’t have a fleet, can I scramble a single fighter to prevent bombardment?

RE: Convoysposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Yesterday I played a Pacific '40 game. I was Japan, in order to balance the game we decided I wouldn’t attack on J1. So India crush wasn’t possible, because I declared war on J3. In that occasion, 2 subs in India were decent. :)

RE: Pacific Changes, and how they could affect global balance, DOW, and other thingsposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I don’t think I’ll apply any change to pacific in the Global Game. And I bet I won’t be playing stand alone pacific '40 after euro 40 release, due to global playing.
But I’m sure I’ll like more the stand alone pacific 40 instead of the europe 40! So I guess I’ll apply the new adjustement only in the stand alone pacific.

[BIG OT!]
Actually they really found the norse colonies ruins in america :)
It’s proven, but still, the official date of america discovery is 1492, because before that it was kept “secret”.That is news to me, I wonder if people are still looking for Chinese ruins because there have been theories that they made it to N. America before anyone else. I honestly don’t know why we still think 1492 was the discovering of the Americas, considering that people have been on this continent for thousands of years.
Technically 1492 is the discovery of the America from the Euro countries.
This is the itinerary of the norsemen travels

@Wikipedia:
The Norse colonization of the Americas began as early as the 10th century, when Norse sailors (often referred to as Vikings) explored and settled areas of the North Atlantic, including the northeastern fringes of North America.

Oh, I’m not from any North Europe countries, I’m from Italy! :D

RE: 2 v 2 what allies are who?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@The:
@mwindianapolis:
In a two on two game the axis split is logical, Germany and Italy and the second player is Japan.
Why not Germany……then Japan and Italy? they were 2 seperate powers.
Italy, a separate power? One that can fight on its own? One that can dominate the mediterranean? :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: You’ve played too much a and a. Check the history books.
I’d like to remind you that Italy had colonies in Africa too prior to the end of ww2, and that they had a great fleet, that’s why the UK tried to sink most of the italian fleet in the Taranto attack, that was the inspiration of Japanese’s Pearl Harbor attack.
Italians had less technology than other ww2 powers, that’s true. Also, the Germans splitted the Italian forces too much, what was the point in wasting Italian soldiers in RUSSIA? If they just let the Italians work in Africa and Medi-sea alone, the situation would have been different.
Also, don’t think Americans walked trough Italy in 1 day, it took them 1 year, even with southern Italy support (Americans got logistic support from the Mafia guys that emigrated in the USA), and even with the situation after 8 september 1943. The Royal family betrayed the country, running away with their money, leaving the army without orders. Italian soldiers didn’t know who were the enemies. They had to fight against eachothers, Italian+Germans vs Italian+Americans.
I’m blabbling too much, bye.
