falied to spend 6 ipc on r1

no need i don´t have Trn´s to take them of the island, so they would be spent in vain, better have the Ipc so you can adept to other moves.

Please explain how you can effectively buy 2 factories on Japan 2, and also prodcue 14 land units? This is very ineffective way to get moving as you put it.

I can´t Produce 14 uits, and i have no intention in doing so.

Factories saves you 1 round for tanks to get moving, since they are built on land they can move 2 spaces imediatley, if shiped from tokey they are delayed 1 turn, each time.

the Trns you buy in the start are used to expand your realm, capturing Australia on J2 is normal, taking india on J2 are normal.

usually i would continue from Australia towards madagascar on j3, SAf j4.

Also a landing by japan in egypt are a viable option on J3 depending on events.

Thsi will pump japan over the 50+ mark, adn the 3 factories on the mainland will put out 9 Arm´s/turn, this will seriously scare russia who will on R6 (in worst case)  be forced to stay in caucasus if they don´t want to give Moscow to Japan.

Tokyo factory is of secondary importance in a game where the allies goes after germany, with is in most games to be honest. (and if they go for a KJF you have time to react with a 3 trn purchase and a save of 6 ipc on j1)

I have never played against you Axisof Evil, but would be interesting to see how you do it.

I disagree a bit with above poster, for some info on one way to lay japan look at my current game in tournament :

      http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=13009.0

But disregard anything you see with germany, it all went very wrong…

But in my opinion you need to expand quickly with japan, meaning build 3 trn´s J1 factories j2. use trns to get moving.

Personally i beliave this ganme is best played with N.o´s possiable tech to but i would understand why we would do without them.  But N.O´s are cool.

    • RE: IC in Norway for Germany?

Norway is very difficult to take back if lost.  The Allies could take it and keep it.

But 2 rtrn, and ac g1, then it will be hard for Brits to hold norway.

in 1941 norway finnland is a “worse” place for uk/usa to funnel troops to due to the additional distance to go towards germany,. also since trn´s no longer works as cover, it´s harder to keep a fleeet alive for uk/usa.

So it´t´s viable but not neccesary since german ic works better, and i would agree a Ic in france would work better, but i would rather put one in balkans thought,  sió germany can put so e troops into africa if needed.

    • RE: Strategy: Bombs Over Berlin

thats actually what i did sucessfully in my last game, had 3 bmb´s with Uk, took down Italys flet with that +2 figs, he didn´t see them properly.  thats also a strategic thing with bombers, it´s hard if your not used to them on the board to see what can happen.

      • you can easily shift damage around the board.

    • RE: G U A R D - german submarine and air strategy for AA50

Mistake means that they didn’t buy destroyers?

      Well let them.

Subs are cheap and good even if destroyers are present.

One objective of a german navy is to keep UK out of the baltic, and the keep controll of norway and finland.

Personally im still of the view that germanys job is to Hold Europe, untill japan arrives, (taking africa etc etc)

This will be easier with a fleet and or a big luftwaffe.

    • RE: 41?…42?..Nos?....Tech?....

Since we can´t agree witch side is more powerfull then the other i say it´s balanced.

personally i will play this game with NO´s and Tech (since techs are no longer gamebreaking “i win” buttons)

This wil make it fun and make the game last long.

I like your strategy; but correct me if I’m wrong, but all the UK needs to do to deter your plan is spend 8 IPC on a DD…
      Thanks!

Let Japan send a fig or two to germany.  Problem solved.

OK, it does seem like the Axis are having a quite big advantage

Am i the only one thinking the axis are at the disadvantage here?

Just played a game (admitidley with 6 players) but the ais was crushed beyond belief…

    • RE: So, do you ignore Japan completely?

My view on this is quite clear Jen.

      *Recless

      • Stupid

(and i do a lot of strange stuff)

Russia can go toe to toe with the wermach long enought for reinforcements to arive. Without such a dangeroous opening.

better hit Westrussia and Belorussia (and possiably strafe ukraine)

if you wanna contain Japan the following moves is better then Jens alternative  (as we have debated several times  )

Russia should hit Westrussia, and belo,.

Send 2 arm to yakut, 6 inf to Buryatia.  rest are optional. (to threathen manchuria)

uk should attack FIC with 3 inf, 1 fig

Send destroyer to kill trn in sz59, flee with ac, trn.

This will sverelly slow japan down.

      Also:

IC on Australia on UK1, combined either with a US build of warships on USA1, or a IC in sinkiang.

This works best with a 6 inf stack in bury and 2 arms of to Yakut, and a UK strike on FIC on UK1.

    • RE: Most Surprising First Round purchases you have seen?

Well i have done (usually do) a lot of “different” first round purchases.

Im seeing a lot of new people here so you prob don´t know who i am or if im shit or not

      But things that do work:

      4 figs G1.

alt, 3 figs ,1 bmb with bids.

      or 2 figs , 1 bmb, 1 arm.

      depends a little bit.

Also i have succesfully deployed the IC in WEU.

Rationale is if your doing the “hold the line” tactics with Germany, while coming in with the save with japan.

Mixes very well with the AF strat, and rationale is the same.  When Allied Fleet build up is to much to handle, retreat figs from sea, and let the carriers die.

And it gives you a huge striking distance for the navy,

Allthought a IC in WEU should be used in combination with a bif for a Sub in SZ7? (with the other sub in atlantic)

For a strike on uk fleet on g1.

    • RE: So, do you ignore Japan completely?

i would agree that is an option only if Japan doesn´t destroy Sz55 totaly.  (or you intend to do a hard counter attack).

other than that ist´s a good solution.  :-)
