    • RE: IC builds for G?

I have a good experiance of an IC in Ukraine on G1 or G2 depending on how much risk you can take (ie how succesfull the Russian offensive have been on R1)

Good to have one in ukraine if you do a Tank push on Russia.  (best on G3)

First round Germany buys only inf, next roud all goes to eastern or balkans, (and you buy only armour on G2) on G3 you buy a IC and put all inf and Arm in Ukraine.

    • RE: J1 Kwangtung IC.

Most people use LHT 1.1 with says that an area cant lose more IPC´s then it´s worth in a turn, regardless of how many bombers engage it.

So on UK Turn you can only bomb 3 IPC away from Japan (regardless of the number of bombers sent.).

The US may bomb 3 from Japan in it´s turn and so on…

Solomon island SZ is labeld 46 in Abattle map, but is 45 in real game, Eastern australia is labeld SZ41 but that isn´t correct i have been told, think it was 46….

And if Germany don´t buy navy units to North sea in G1 it is mandatory for UK to wipe it on UK 1. (in my oppinion.)

    • RE: Protecting India…

Japan can allways take India in J1 if needed (by needed i mean if UK builds a IC on UK 1).

    • RE: Germany

Well after my disapointing attack on that fleet while playing Bebo i will mostlikley stop using that tactic…

I wanted to use it while i belived that transports couldn´t load/offload if the sea zone next to their target was occupied by hostile troops…

Now UK/USA can land pretty much on will anyway so it´s better to conserve the strenght of the luftwaffe…

Probably better to use the Bmb to invade Egypt etc…  (witch i thought you couldn´t on turn 1 before…)

If some of you have spare time to waste you could check my game vs bebo, and give some critcism to my strat, allways funn to hear new peoples opinion on things…

While playing with pretty much the same people over and over again you tend to get a narrow mind of the available strategys.

    • RE: Pearl or no Pearl??? part 2 = the poll

Agree with Triforce, Better for axis if USA messes with Japan by going “island hoping”, Japan don´t really care, establishes itself on the Asia mainland and celebrate with the Germans.

If USA comes close to Japan they will be severly hit, by the fleet and between 4-6 Figs + 1-2 BmB (depending on Japans opening purchase)

USA needs a large fleet to do that, and that means Germany has a lot less to worry about in Europe.

Only time i will hit Japan with USA is if everyone is hiting japan, meaning UK factory in India, USA factory in sinkiang or Alaska, Russia are offensive vs Japan (attacking with the infantry if they survives japans opening turn, supported by the fighters)

But that at the same time of course means Germany is off the hook……

What is best i guess is in the end a matter of taste (but i see most people here tend to go for KGF)

      Well i get the point….

My mistake.  But i thought that rule was a good one…  changes the strategy some.

    • RE: Rule question

Well we have allways played revised this way, and why isn´t this “how it works”? it says quite clear in the rule book…

But you are allso wrong in both your assumed cases.

If UK has ships in sz2 you can land troops in sz6,  Becuse the sea sones adjacent to sz6 is z3,z7 and z5.

      sz7 is adjacent to z6,z8 and z12.

Personaly i think that this is the rule that changes the tactics for this game more then anything else when compareed to “original” A&A.

So i really belive you are wrong (and i think it´s a widespread wrong doing, atleast among new players)

    • RE: Rule question

In the offical rules it alsso states this on transports (page 13):

      A transport may not
load or offload in a territory
adjacent to a hostile sea zone
      ,
      unless the enemy units consist
      only of submerged submarines

So i would take that as you cant offload if there is an enemy ship (other than submerged submarine) in an adjacent sea zone if it´s not engaged and destroyed during the same Combat phase.

And you can´t load a transport if there is a enemy ship in an adjacent sea zone in the begining of the turn (only in the peace move phase if it´s defeated)

    • RE: Need Help from Experienced German Player

My opening German move to attack UK fleet is ussually kinda like this (the availability of my fighters depends on russian player of course…)

Sub z8 attacks z2 along with Bomber from germany, fighter norway.  (a bit risky move i know…)

Battleship z14 to z 13 along fighter from france

Transport z 14 to z 15 along fighter from balkans,

What i buy is situated to the actions of the russian player, but either i go a battle ship and 3 tanks, or 8 tanks or 6 tanks and a transport to put in italy…  Option on 4 tanks and a transport (italy) and a destroyer (baltic sea) have crosed my mind…

      Any thoughts?

    • RE: Germany

if it goes bad you usually have the bomber left, it´s well worth the try, (and even if you only manages to get the sub and transport, but can keep your bomber that is good…)

Maybe im a lucky guy i don´t know but it works quite well, but of course it´s a better chance if the sub isn´t there. (some russian players like to put it in the way of the german fleet…

    • RE: Germany

In my opinion Germany has a strong possition.

of course this depends on your course of action in G1.

My favorite opening is to send that sub in the atlantic+bomber+fighter to attack the UK´s  fleet, (transport+battleship and sometimes a russian sub…)

I usually get the job done and wipes them (7-8 of 10 tries),

Depending on how much the Russians attack i counter attack and build either 8 tanks or battleship + 3 tanks G1 and 3 tanks and a factory in G2 (with goes to ukraine)….

    • RE: Rule question

I think we need to clarify.

You can only land your troops if you destroy the ship(s) in that see-zone or any neigboring see-zones. If you fail your attack the ships in the see-zone your in or neigboring your transports see-zone you can´t land them.

The same goes for loading a transport. (but you can only load in the peace move phase)
