@nikola1975 I think most games hinge on finding the proper balance of early aggressiveness with UK and Russia to either save London or allow Russia to get huge if it’s a sea lion game. I failed in that this time. LMK if you want a rematch.

@nikola1975 “how good am I with the axis”, I don’t know, there are a few players I can never beat. I do prefer playing the Allies, in all versions of the game. In PTV I think the axis need a good bid.

Thanks! This one was exciting and quite original. It seems that fall of London is difficult to overcome if Japan plays well. In addition to what happened, I think it would be even better for Axis if Italy did not lose that fleet. I should have been patient, it was only question of time when Kairo would fall, and with Middle East and Africa open, Italy would probably go up to 35-40 IPC per turn.

I thought you might have gone for few more rounds, but you are probably right, Japan was becoming too strong and after fall of Hawaii, US would basically need to spend everything in Pacific - and still end up beyond Japan.

@flyingbadger Thanks, man. I am very satisfied with how I played with Japan; the main difference between this one and the previous game we played was I think that I stubbornly insisted on Japan 1 attack. This seems to work better.

For Italy, it was planned, I wanted to do something nice with them and it worked well. It could have turned around if the attack on Rome was more successful. Looking back, probably Americans would hardly take it, but the British should have taken it after the initial invasion. With that, it would not work so well for you, Germans would probably eventually take it back, but it would have made a longer game :)

oh ok, I didn’t think about VCs. Like in our last game, I didnt think about winning in that way. In the past I had someone sneek in a VC win and I thought it was kind of a weaselly way to win given that that game was going in my favor.
And maybe we can play again in the near future as I should get back to my game with Flying Badger. I can really only play one game at a time… if I want to play well that is

I was happy how things were going in Europe, especially the Russians, I thought they held up the German advance well. Italy still had it’s fleet but was generally contained. However careless loss of the US Pacific fleet was disasterous, leaving Australia exposed and Europe with no US reinforcements as all the IPCs had to go to rebuilding the Pacific fleet and trying to stop Japan closing out a victory. Maybe KJF would be a better approach, especially for me as I get lost in the 3D chess of the Pacific on the PtV map so would be better with an OP fleet.
