      I’ve been having trouble with notifications as well.

      No it’s not being considered for BM3. The map isn’t really designed with that in mind, and for play by forum players it would significantly increase game length for little gain. We’re just testing to see if it’s a nice concept for future projects.

      I agree. But running away when alondon has fallen, seemed wrong.
      I think it makes Sealion a bad choice (if one at all) in your House ruled version.

      maybe, I definitely am still searching for a proper way to play allies. My usual problem is that I over-focus on Pacific and Europe falls. I wanted to test if US could get somehow rich in Pacific fast with additional income but it does not seem the case. I was actually just about to switch to Europe when Japan bought pure subs. As I felt that (again) I am turning to Europe too late… lets just get a shot on taking Tokyo down… I managed to capture it… but there was not enough time to become that huge US money in European theater in several turns to come… Also this Japanese switch to help Germany with European victory is rather annoying and probably a good reason not to kill Japan before European theater is secured. But as for securing European theater… right now I don’t really have a clue how to do that without losing in Pacific. Anyway… looks like both of our games will be won by Allies so you might be right that sub +9 for US is maybe not that far from balanced.

      Play-tested Cow’s idea (of putting all of South America under US control, thus increasing America’s starting production by 8, and giving 11 additional infantry at the start of the game) and it seemed to work reasonably well.

      It also seems like a more organic solution than simply tacking on some arbitrary number to USA’s income, and has some historical precedent (since South America did lend some support to the war effort)

      Coupled with a modest bid for the brits (6ish), i think this would go a long way to balancing the game.

      Actually I realized I made a mistake putting the sub in 110 in the first place.  I also thought it would be nice to cancel the bombard, but realized after the move it was more valuable as a key piece in getting the transports (along with the destroyer and the bomber).  Good move btw building an airbase, I was thinking only in terms of naval builds (thought you would build 2 AC and 1 BB).  I still wasn’t sold on the attack, as I also considered just swinging the bombers back to the Pacific, after you made a big investment in German navy and infrastructure that wouldn’t be all that helpful in Russia.  However that meant giving up the UK for a very long time, which I did not want to do.  I think Sea Lion is mixed bag.  I did it in my other game after UK put planes in South Africa on turn one, and found it worked, but it was a real pain pushing the Russians back out of Europe.  Overall I would do it if the opportunity presents itself, because of the IPC benefit and the beneficial effect it tends to have on the Pacific and Italy.  And no, I was not that sneaky that I was trying to get you to go there on purpose (otherwise I would set up the Russian and US coounter attack better).  I also thought you might decide not to do it at the last minute and use the opportunity to hit the Russians who conveniently moved up (which is one reason the Russians were not positioned as well as they might have been).
