If I’m playing Allies and Germany does a G1 on Russia, my first purchase is a factory in Egypt. I think one of the drawbacks to a G1 Barbarossa is Italy ends up minimized most of the time. Just my 2 cents.

RE: Global Victory Conditions MATH analysis
If there are 241 IPC’s worth of territories (before NO’s), that would mean the Allies would be earning well over 200 IPC’s a turn. No way the Axis could recover from that deficit. That would mean another 50-70 IPC’s worth of NO’s as well.

Convoy markers from HBG.

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
Germany has two submarines in SZ 109 conducting convoy on UK. On UK’s turn they purchase three destroyers and place them in SZ 109. On France’s turn, can the French fighter in London attack the submarines, since there are allied destroyers in the zone? If so, don’t the submarines shoot back at the destroyers?

RE: Global Victory Conditions MATH analysis
I like the idea of more than one conditions for victory as mentioned previously. One being a victory city condition and the other being an economic victory. Perhaps assigning a point value to each city, such as 10 points for player capitols and 3 points for other VC’s and then a threshold for victory after a certain turn for the city condition.
The economic victory is often a more obvious win. Once one side is out-earning the other by a significant margin the outcome is usually apparent to both sides. It shouldn’t be too difficult to come up with either a margin of economy figure for victory, or a straight threshold for combined economy, whichever would work better.
edit: gud grammer

RE: Chinese Nationalist decals
That’s a lot of roundels for one aircraft. :-D

RE: Global Victory Conditions MATH analysis
Basic capitals. So Berlin, Rome and Tokyo for Axis. Washington, London, Calcutta, Sydney and Moscow for Allied. We don’t require the others for victory. But most times one side will concede once the writing is on the wall, as IPC dominance tends to tell after the first eight to ten turns.

RE: Global Victory Conditions MATH analysis
Our house rule for modified victory is simple: neither side can win if they don’t also own ALL of their starting capital cities. So, the Axis can’t win, no matter how many victory cities they may own, unless they also have control of Rome, Tokyo and Berlin at the same time. Same goes for the Axis.

RE: Chinese Nationalist decals
I finally received my decals from Taiwan. They were much too large (it was impossible to get scale from the pictures). But not to despair, HBG has replenished their stock and I have some on the way. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions.

A great piece of work, Siredblood. We finally printed and trimmed our map last week and played on it over the weekend. Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into it.
Edit: sorry for the potato image. I’ll try to get a better photo after work today.

RE: Grasshopper's Battle Dice - Now Available
Very happy with our set. Great job.

RE: Russian non combat moves while neutral
I stand corrected. However, they (USSR) could declare war upon Japan and then attack a neutral such as Turkey, right?
-
RE: Russian non combat moves while neutral
Yes, they could declare war on the neutrals. That would turn all other True Neutrals pro-Axis. Early in the game, this would probably turn out poorly for the Allies.

RE: Germany Loses the Battle of France. What's next?
Losing the battle for France is a good learning lesson for the German player. It should teach them that when it comes to critical, game changing battles that they should not go light on attacking forces. Overwhelming odds are your friend early as German IMO. It minimizes your losses and all but guarantees you win the battle.
Sure, you may win a majority of the time by taking a minimum of forces while gobbling up a bunch of other territories as well, but when you don’t win the major battle the minors don’t matter.

RE: Chinese Nationalist decals
Thanks, Siredblood. I found a set on Ebay and ordered from there. We shall see how they work out. Really only needed enough for one fighter aircraft, but oh well. You do what you gotta do, right?

RE: Chinese Nationalist decals
HBG does have them, just checked… gotta go look under other nations… click on china, Korea, Vietnam … no mouth though, but wings ya.
Yeah, had never checked (or even noticed) that “other nations” part. Unfortunately they are out of stock. Thanks for the tip though.

RE: Chinese Nationalist decals
HBG sells decals of the Chinese Nationalist flag, which is different than the roundel.

Chinese Nationalist decals
Is there somewhere that sells decals that match the Chinese Nationalist logo in the game? Specifically, I am looking for something for the aircraft, to resemble the Flying Tigers. I already have the P40 model from HBG, just need the decal now.
Anyone?

RE: Starting Income
Actually, it would be eligible for 25 extra IPC in National Objectives, unless the Philippines were taken by Japan. But yes, 52 in initial income.

RE: Discussions about homemade custom dice
Oh, and our group prefers the 10mm dice over the larger 16mm sizes, particularly with our dice towers.
