Btw… after reading this thread, I’ve come up with a name for thing I do while playing:

      Operation Cornflakes

Of course, the nature of the operation is Top Secret, so I’m not at liberty to provide further details, in the interest of national security.

Ok, I’ve made a minor update so that the color matches the controlling country. This works well in Excel 2010. I’ve not tested it in other versions. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/99318978/Axis_and_Allies_Excel_Spreadsheet.xlsx

I’ve also uploaded my unit purchase tool. This is good for those that have trouble formulating their purchases. It works well on my iPhone, but I have no idea if it works on other platforms. Note: First enter the available IPC and Industrial Capacity, and then use the plus and minus buttons for making purchases. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/99318978/Axis_and_Allies_Purchase_Tool%204.html

Edit: I’ve created an iOS Numbers version of the unit purchase tool. You’ll need iOS and Number to use it, and it isn’t quite as fancy as the html version above, but the interface is a little cleaner.

Ok, so this won’t be of use to everyone, but if you have an iPhone, and you’re new to the game, this might be of interest.

To get started, enter the number of IPCs you have, your industrial capacity, and click submit. Then press the “+” and “-” buttons to buy your troops.

It won’t let you add more units than what you can afford. But when you exceed your industrial capacity, that field with simply show a negative number. It won’t stop you from adding more units.

This is not an App. It is an html file that does local calculations. Nothing is sent to a server. It’s formatted using tables, and I know that’s bad form, but I don’t have much in the way of CSS skills (maybe later).

The only phone I have is an iPhone, so that’s all I’ve tested it on. It’s pretty standard html, so I would hope that it would work on other platforms. It works in IE on a PC, so maybe that is a good sign. Your milage may vary.

Constructive criticism is very welcome, but don’t tell me it’s stupid just because you can add up all your purchases in your head. This is a tool for beginners who haven’t memorized the cost of each unit, and may not remember to keep their industrial capacity in mind.
