It’s criminal negligence if you leave drugs or car keys out and somebody gets hurt.  If you leave a firearm out its a different matter.  Why?  Hint Hint……The NRA will not go to bat for your misplaced keys or drugs…

      Fascinating Malachi.
I am sorry I have not had time to read it until now.
I love German aircraft and the DO 17/217 was always a favourite of mine.

The USAF and the RCAF/CFAC also had some nuclear-tipped air-to-air weapons in their inventories, such as the AIR-2 Genie.  Canada had them as late as 1984; they were carried by CF-101 Voodoo interceptors.  They were officially under US control, but they could be released for use by Canada as circumstances warranted.

In addition to the two big components of the nuclear triad that have already been mentioned – the land-based ballistic missiles and the manned SAC bombers – there was also the third component, the US Navy’s ballistic missile subs.  At the opposite end of the scale, the US nuclear inventory includes – if I’m not mistaken – man-portable nuclear demolition charges, designed for things like special commando-type operations.  I think a weapon of this type is featured in the 1977 motion picture thriller Twilight’s Last Gleaming.

Garg, good catch.  Technically he was her cousin but with a great age difference she called him ‘uncle’, I had forgot how the actual blood connection occurred.  His wife is still alive and my mom visits with her at least once per year.  I really ought to go spend some time with her while I still can.

      Imperious LeaderI

You are responding to this thread….this thread is created by me.  You IL in fact were the first person to post in this thread so how can you be claiming to be responding to Garg when you were the very first poster complaining that this thread was political?  This is MY thread, MY topic.  Screw off and leave me and my thread alone.  Do me a favour IL, if you see a thread created by me, just don’t post in it or stay on topic if you just can’t resist posting in my forum topic threads because you can’t resist me for some reason.  I have asked the moderators to ask you to do the same thing.  We have a negative history and we should just avoid each other.

Please stop complaining. When you own the site you can make up the rules. I don’t give a rats if it is a thread made by you or not. If the thread is political i will say so and i will comment as i see fit.

I never did anything except point out it this thread is political, and that is my opinion.

You tend to blow up my words however innocuous and make them into something more. This is not a good idea. I know it may be difficult for you, but a thread created by you is only that: a thread created by you. If you wanted to make it private, you might consider emailing to friends. In a public forum, anybody can post.

I wish you would drop it. It would never have gone past a first post without you constantly posting this gibberish.

Thank you Malachi. I would have posted about the battle between the Ironclads, but Saturday is my busiest day. And the 6 Nations is on too!
This rugby competition is the highlight of my sporting calendar and I miss a third of the games as it is, as I am at work.

well there are two things you guys are overlooking from the movie IMO…

      1. the machines used the machines and schematics they had AVAILABLE.  And that said, they used them in a mad scramble to protect themselves/skynet.  You know how often your machines turn off/become unreliable/break down.  Skynet used EVERYTHING at it’s disposal instantly, because that’s the most efficient.

      2. I took it (especially from the last terminator movie) that like the matrix, humans were needed for certain things.

      3. I also took it, that the rest of the planet, didn’t have their own sky/net machines/drones. and that the bulk of the problem was an American one.

      4. Nuclear Devestation also would have damaged machines… EMP would have messed them up.

I read this and it made me shake my head.  Tax policy is a pretty dry subject no doubt.  But there is a story to be told when a company can earn a billion dollars in profit and actually pay negative taxes, ie, not only pay no taxes for a year you earn a billion but actually get taxes paid in previous years refunded!  If that was not enough fun for a year, you also get tax offsets for future years ensuring you won’t pay taxes on your next few billion dollars in profits.

I often come across interesting news and information sources and thought maybe it might be of value of we could share some of them.  I would suggest nothing that was too narrow in focus or too partisan on issues.  If there is a partisan slant then it should at least be somewhat subtle, polite and humourous if possible.

Some of my historic favourites are:

http://www.globalsecurity.org/ -  No doubt the best source of weapons systems and general military/intelligence related topics.  Clear the cookie for this site to get past the number of article restrictions.

This is a new one to me, some of his views are opposite of mine but he does have humour to me.  This came to me when surfing and was a link to US natural gas production.  That article was here:
      http://streetwiseprofessor.com/?p=6878

It seemed well written so I checked out the blog and liked his style, but it’s not been fully vetted yet.  I would be considered leftist in the US (on some issues that seem to be hot button and rightist on economic issues) but his recent comments on David Gregory et al were pretty funny
      http://streetwiseprofessor.com/

This website of course, it should be everyone’s goto site!
