Nothing like a heavily indebted nation having to sell territory to pay the bills. Say….how much for Florida?

Most Canadians call the E.R.T SWAT. Way easier to say SWAT and frankly, most Canucks recognize SWAT over ERT.

Mind you for me as a kid it was a member of the special weapons task force. No sense of humour. As a 13 year old kid I was chased into a 24 hour grocery store by some drunken teenagers. My BB gun was no match for four drunks and a pickup truck. Long story short when the manager called the police to declare there were men with guns in the store it really excited the small sleepy yokel police department who were sadly disappointed with two scared 13 year old kids were the gunmen. It was a CO2 bb pistol but still….no assault rifle.

If the US War of Independence had not occurred. North America would have evolved as a ‘Dominion’ of Great Britain rather than what is now Canada. Perhaps a parliamentary system as exists in Canada and Britain but not as separate nations but as one large parliament as exists now in Great Britain for Wales, Scotland, England and N. Ireland. By the 1900s we would see what is now Britain as a ‘Dominion’ of North America where the real power was in NA based on having 6-7 times the population of Isles of Britain as it stands now.
The 1800s play out completely different and England dominates the world. On the other hand the expansion into North America may have occurred more slowly. Perhaps the Americas with no strong English expansionist tendencies are more heterogeneous and a place of constant warfare.

The guy mentioned asymmetric warfare. So go into hiding, let the media talk and talk and once and while keep the fire burning when you see your ‘ratings’ dipping. Ties up resources and when they are fatigued you strike again.

Again, just a bit of saber rattling but it is setting records for volume levels every few months.
Japan says it may release evidence to prove a Chinese naval frigate locked its fire-control radar onto a Japanese ship near disputed islands.

How about you start using a REAL browser?
Like Internet Explorer… ;)
And have you tried the same machine with an alternate browser?
Going back off topic, to the topic of IE Explorer sucking……
Every single Internet Explorer at risk of drive-by hacks until Patch Tuesday

Garg, still have to disagree with you. They are two different executables and processes. Run your task manager to see what processes are running, you can then fire up internet explorer and see that process (iexplorer.exe). You can kill the iexplorer process and explorer still runs (explorer.exe). In fact by law Microsoft CANNOT require internet explorer to be a required part of the operating system. A crash by iexplorer does not crash explorer.exe….it might, but its not a causal relationship.
They may use many of the same components, but that means nothing. I mean cars all use the same roads, fuel and traffic lights but that does not make all cars identical just because they use the same resources. There are few things I would say I am expert in, but 30+ years of getting paid to write software means you probably should not bet against me.
Garg, care to lay some coin down on a wager over this?

Garg, explorer and Internet explorer are two different animals and processes. Your windows gui (explorer.exe) is not internet explorer (iexplorer.exe). Internet explorer is a sad animal indeed, but a required animal tho I only use it for work to ensure compatibility of software.

I’d be interested in reading an alternate history novel of how the world might be with an un-separated British Empire.

Mayonnaise, what else would the French use on the fries? Well not just the French. I suppose it is not less strange than using vinegar with your fries, malt vinegar if you can get it!

Something about France losing always puts a smile on my face. Although in Mail, I am pleased to see the French being the ones doing the bitch-slapping.

Garg has offered constructive suggestions for FMG in the resent past. Taking a friend to task for bad behaviour is hardly wishing ill of your friend. Sometimes its hard for some people to understand the distinction. Not responding to customer inquires is bad behaviour. A friend taps you on the shoulder and politely points out a foible and now all is well. Long live FMG.
I think David mentioned something about a pre-paid goody kit from FMG for the FMG convention. I think that’s a heck of an idea! Perhaps some special ‘pay-for-swag’ products like t-shirts etc. could be explored as pre-paid goodies.
IL, turning this into a forum to lash out at Garg is shameful quite frankly.

Yankees, nothing like division rivals to hate. Far too much success since Toronto won the world series back to back. Dolphins for owning the Bills during the 70s. Tho with that logic I would have to hate the entire NFL for the last decade of Bills play….

Very well said Young Grasshopper and I concur. I don’t recall seeing anyone post anything that implied a wish FMG has anything but success. I have to disagree with IL. Posting valid concerns is not ‘fear peddling’ and labeling such people as ‘those who suck’ is anything but helpful moreover, I do believe that looking out for newbies is a right thing to do, speaking out for others both FMG and new users is a proper thing to do for forum members.
Great to see life back at FMG! I sure do like my dice!

Although I am a fan of Jeremy and FMG, It seems wrong to allow new A&A.org conscripts to make purchases from FMG, while there are still many members here demanding refunds.
I have to agree. Great people, great products. But you do have to return emails and calls in order to get NEW business.

RE: Time Machineposted in General Discussion
I always thought a great premise for a Sci-Fi movie would be a last chance to save humanity from an alien invasion rested with time travel and one individual with perhaps a few gadgets say 20-50 Kilos worth. That individual’s diplomacy, information and tactical/strategic acumen is placed back in time in order to jump start technical civilization at a point early enough that we could in time withstand the alien onslaught.
What time and civilization would be picked and how would the change take place? Perhaps the limits would be any time in the last 3000 years. Ancient Egypt with a few Ipads teaching the ancients on how to turn copper into wires and electric motors/generators.

I see you don’t have muscle cars as an option, suppose that makes sense for an AandA site! I’d love to get into making tables, 'specially since my hands shake too much to paint!
