    • RE: Fmg pieces price

Bear in mind the quality of these pieces is very high, people.

I’m fine with $30 per nation.

    • RE: Europe 1940 shows up on Wizards site…with screenshot

At last! WotC actually seem to want to show that they are, indeed, making this game!

The board looks fantastic to me, and I’m glad that we’re getting a better battle strip and IPC chart. Are those NO indicators I see next to the IPC level circles? :-)

    • RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

I’d happily pay anywhere between $30 and $40 for each nation, and maybe a bit more for the “extras”. I could probably stretch it to $50 per nation.

    • RE: What are the most important sea zones?

Hawaii, Japan, Malaya, Carolines and Philippines. If you manage to grab even half of these (along with the NBs there), you can easily respond to pretty much anything thrown at you.

Hawaii is great for simply deploying fleets to various sections of the Pacific - be that Australia, Japan, New Guinea, WUS or anything in-between.

Japan, whoever possesses this pretty much has  control of the game. If US grabs it, they can block a good portion of Japanese income. US can, of course, land troops in Korea as well. If Japan has it, they can get fleets to Carolines, Philippines, Kwangtung and Hawaii right after making them.

Malaya, for the sole reason of controlling pretty much all of SE Asia, including the all-important DEI.

Carolines, good spot to hit ANZAC from and a good way of getting fleets from South to North quickly, or vice-versa.

Philippines, for US NO and controlling pretty much the entire coast of the mainland. The 2IPCs also help.

    • RE: Is Germany gonna be strong enough?

Well, let’s just hope that unlike Japan, Germany is not more than strong enough to win the game.

Well, you can be assured that if I have the money, I will buy them. If I don’t, I’ll try to get the money.

Glad to hear read it! :-D Of course, even plastic tiles would be 10X better than the thin cardboard ones WotC gave us

    • RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

The BUNKERS and TASK FORCE MARKERS will be in the “extras” set that will include ICs / Naval Bases / Air Bases etc etc

So plastic AB and NB are going to be available? I’m sold. Completely and utterly sold.

What’s the current plan for representing them? Just tiles with icons? Or maybe a miniature aircraft control tower/wharf type thing?

      PRODUCTION INSIGHT

Each individual sculpt cost us $200 each!  That does not include the cost of Models, Historical research time and shipping of samples back and forth to the sculptor.

Each Nation Mould for injection will cost about $3000

whew - for a moment I thought you meant $3K to make each individual set! Any chance of telling us how much it costs you to get one manufactured, once the moulds are all arranged (just for curiosity’s sake).

I just checked their website and guess what? Nothing as usual.

You actually bothered to check? And I thought I was hyped for this game.

Didn’t really think about that before. Alright, if I have enough cash I might buy soon.

    • RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

Really looking forward to the pieces, FMG! I am so gonna pimp my AAG40 set with them (and all your other fantastic products)!

Just one question - once all nations are complete, will you offer all of them as one set, or will we have to order each one seperately? To add on to this, do you plan to make more production runs if they’re reasonably successful? I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d rather buy them all at once than one nation at a time. Finding that some nations are out of stock when I get around to getting the whole collection would be unfortunate for me :|.

For now, though, I need to save up :-P.

    • RE: Another Mistake!!

The british roundel was there purely to negate canadian contribution to war effort

That was the single funniest thing I have read all day :-D

I have a feeling they’ll make sure there’s less mistakes in AAE40, but I do not know how “much” less that will be :-P

Split boxes sounds the way to go :-). I just hate seeing different coloured pieces in the same pile :x

    • RE: How is France going to survive even 1 round?!?

After France falls. What is next for Germany? UK, Russia or Africa.

Hopefully Germany will be strong enough to be competitive in all three of these at once :-)

    • RE: Question about A&A Production

Wait, are we talking about iPods or A and A?

For a moment I thought you were talking about handheld games consoles :-P

I for one don’t have any problem with A&A getting better and better, forcing you to buy the latest version (should I?). I would have a problem with it if WotC had a “list” of updated versions that they will release as far ahead as 2020. Of course, it is unlikely that they would ever be that organised. Pricing is another issue entirely.

    • RE: IL AAG40 map?

This will be what i feel is what AA should be in terms of victory conditions that allow for individual objectives by nation.

Now this I like. So the Axis and the Allies will all be “racing” each other to victory? If so, it’ll be awesome - even if one “side” has won, which “corners” have one is still up in the air
