lol, maybe if the French had Napoleon and his 19th century armies, they would have done better against Nazi Germany.

Polish Calvary……lol ya, they outflank German tanks… good job, now what… Poland was totally out-classed by Gremany. So was France …good tanks for the time…bad generals and poor soldiers.

RE: Winning strat for Germanyposted in Axis & Allies Classic
Even if it was the middle of summer, there is no way Germany would have “taken” Moscow in 41’. The Russian Guards were already deployed there. Plus, the city itself had mad entrenchments. It would have been a long, drawn out fight for the city that would have gone on a long time.
Supply lines, more than anything else, halted the massive offensive towards Moscow.

RE: Strategic Bombing: Calculating oddsposted in Axis & Allies Classic
Holy….did i suggest one buys all bombers in the first few turns…i didnt eh. Look, most games i play are close, one easy way for the allies to tip the scales is to bomb Germany. just maintaning a bomber fleet of 5-6 is all that the allies need to lay-a-hurtin. And its tough for Germany 2 defend against it.

“Stalingrad” is a good book i dont remember who wrote it though. Also, you might read “At Dawn We Sleep” or “Blitzkrieg” The "Destruction of the Bismark " is great too. They are not tactical but they offer good in site into over all battle plans and how they execute them.

Gul Dan all its takes is about 5 bombers to mess up Germany, Britian can very much afford to buy some bombers, you dont need to buy one every round, just maintain. Obviously, if youre taking money away for Germany, they will have a harder time defending their territory. This makes it easier to invade and hold German soil.

RE: Battleshipsposted in Axis & Allies Pacific
with 2 hits the battleships are better, IMO.If you hit a Bship once its still around, a hit on a Destroyer…it gone.
With the amount of ICP the US has in the game, i dig on the battleship.[ This Message was edited by: Mr Ghoul on 2002-03-13 19:51 ]

RE: Strategic Bombing: Calculating oddsposted in Axis & Allies Classic
America isnt the only country that can bomb Germany, 2 bombers from Britain can really make life hard on Germany

We talking about the board game here not history itself.

Industrail bombing ,as ive say in another post, can be, is devastating. If the US and Britain buy a couple of bombers each, they can take turns Pounding Gremany. Which leads to some serious hurtin for Gremany. Russia can even get into the act.It gets dumb pretty quick, mainly because Germany can do almost nothing against it. A 1 on a D six is weak at best.
