    • Balancing and Bidding

      Hello,
I have been looking for a fair and realistic bidding mechanism that will balance the game. According to my short search, giving Axis a one time 7-9 IPCs would provide a reasonable balance. Would you agree?

Another option could be is that each of the Axis countries can start the game with a technology or a national advantage. What do you think about this?

Could you also tell me what your balancing/bidding practice is while playing this specific revision of A&A.
      Thank you in advance

    • What other editions do you play?

      Hello,
I have been playing the revised edition for a while with the same buddy. Although we still enjoy it very much, we would like to try another edition. The revised edition is the only edition I have played so far and my buddy has played the 2nd edition before.

Could you share your experiences with other editions? I am particularly interested in your comparison of other editions to the revised edition.
      Thanks in advance…

    • RE: What is the best National Advantage (for Allies) for beginners

      Thank you very much.
      I play KGF.
In that sense Nonaggression treaty is not too bad for Soviets. However, Lend lease looks stronger given that it makes Russia unbeatable.
To me all British national advantages are useless. Colonial Garrison is the best of the worst.
I also agree that Mechanized Infantry is the best national adv. for the US. However, I also like superfortresses.

    • What is the best National Advantage (for Allies) for beginners

      Hello,
I am relatively inexperienced players (five full games so far). I play this game with a good friend who is very experienced.
We have played without national advantage and we would like to try national advantages for the next game. Could someone elaborate national advantages for allies? Which one is easiest to play with? I dont have experience with technological development either. I believe the choice of national advantage can be a complicated decision when the technological development is taken into account. Thank You.

    • RE: Help me find a USA strategy

Have the UK distract Germany in North Africa while the US builds transports.

Could elaborate this a little bit?

    • Help me find a USA strategy

I am relatively new to the game. I will play my 4th A&A game this weekend and I will be commanding Allies. Thanks to all who helped me to come up with a reasonable Britain and Russia strategy. Now it is time to think about USA. I will use KGF approach. In my last three I could not bring USA to the war zone in time so I could not benefit from them. Now I will have the following strategy:

      • Put an IC in Sinkiang: Therefore I will able to produce US units near to Russia to slow down Japan and defend Moskow when needed.
      • Develop a fleet in Atlantic Ocean and continuously transfer soldiers to North Africa. I will attack Germany from Mediterranean sea and will make sure that I control Suez Channel.

Do you think these are reasonable strategies to bring USA to the war zone in time?
      Thank You.

    • RE: Developing a British Navy

I will double check how come my friend (well also my opponent) manages to kill my battleship in the first turn all the time.

    • RE: Developing a British Navy

My opponent consistently destroys the British battleship in the beginning when it is German’s turn 1. So I have never had an opportunity to use it. So I need to plan without that battleship.

    • Developing a British Navy

      Hello,
I am relatively new to the game. I will play my 4th A&A game this weekend and I will be commanding Allies. I am having hard time to find a reasonable strategy for Britain. I will definitely be after the Kill Germans First approach.  I am currently working on a way to build a small British Navy so I can transfer my land units to Europe to conquer German regions. In the first round I will attack German North Atlantic Fleet and hopefully destroy it. Then I would like to construct my Navy. However, I am afraid that German bomber and fighters will destroy my ships as soon as I build something around Britain. Given that I start with only 30 IPC. Could someone help me how I can develop a fleet that is not so fragile to German air force.
      Thanks in advance.

    • RE: How to make a good use of the British fleet in the Indian Ocean

Thank you very much for all these useful information. I have one related question. For some reason building an IC in India at turn 1 seems to be a necessary step for me.
      Would you confirm that?

    • How to make a good use of the British fleet in the Indian Ocean

I am relatively a new player. I played allies so far only and I am always frustrated with the British sea units in Indian sea (35). In the beginning of the game I always move them to 30 along with other ships around Australia. Then, they stay there for the rest of the game. Eventually, they are wasted without any meaningful use. Could you help me here. Tell me a few ways about how I can make these ships useful.

      Thank you in advance.

    • RE: Please critisize my allies strategy

I really find your strategy good but isnt it hard to implement?
Focusin on atlantic will leave the Japan alone and They can assist German to destroy Russia. I guess you need to finish up the ally fleet and start attacking German soil in 2 rounds to rescue  russia.

    • RE: Aircraft vs. Submarine rules question

      So, My understanding is that
fighters and bombers can attack submarine by themselves and submarine can not fire back.
      Please confirm that.
So how does submerging work here?

    • Please critisize my allies strategy

      Hello,
I have played A&A 3 times. All games were against the same friend who taught me the game. I lost all of them and I am getting prepared for the next game which is next week.

This time I would like to try the following allies strategy:

      1. Russia plays defensive. Russia focuses on protection of Moskow and US military complex in Asia.
      2. UK builds military complex in India and destroys German navy close to UK.
      3. USA builds a military complex in Asia conquers North Africa.

      • US attacks primarily to Japan but also to Germany
      • Russia mostly defends and if possible attacks Germany
      • UK defends India and defends Russia by attacking Germany from both north and south.

What do you think about this strategy? What are the postential risks? Also help me detail the strategy if you think it is good. Thank You.
