Institute a time limit on turns. Tell Ray to make sure he’s ready to go (purchases and moves mostly planned out) BEFORE his turn. (that’s what our group does … works quite well for shortening turn time and keeping things moving).

As to the parking, would it be better to cab it both ways from the hotel there Saturday or would the car be safe there overnight? When does the place open up on Saturday? I’m 2 hours away and need to know if I should book a room for Friday & Saturday or just come up Saturday morning,
Article for consideration
I have been addicted to podcasts for about 3 years now and always wanted to produce my own but I didn’t know how to do it or what subject on which to do it. I have a few passions. Comic Books, Baseball, History, and Axis & Allies. Since the first three are widely covered by some great podcasts, I decided to go with the last one, but how? It occurred to me that all I really had to do was record my friends and I as we play the game every other Sunday. I got a new laptop for Christmas and bought a decent microphone, downloaded a couple free programs for editing and decided to teach myself how to do this. The Dicetruction Podcast is the result.
Every other Sunday, my friends, Ray and Isaac Mann and I play different versions of A&A and have recorded our exploits. I edit them and post them up on my feed site and now I have a podcast.
This show is not for everyone and may in fact not really be for anyone but if you want to kill some time listening to a bunch of drunken fools play A&A, tell (sometimes) funny stories, and roll dice, then give it a listen. Best of all it’s free!

I should let you know that the language is quite vulgar and we do not take ourselves very seriously until the last round when one side smells the blood in the water and we don’t play without copious juice of the barley. This is a game that the three of us love very much and we will continue to produce episodes regardless of audience participation, however, again if you do listen don’t be shy! Episode 3 is up from our game last Sunday. We played Anniversary Edition and ep3 is round one from that game.

The first two are about an hour each, encompassing 1 round each. We play pretty slow but that game is probably the longest we’ve ever taken to play Classic. The Japanese took Moscow but the Allies took it back and won. I’m hoping to get them to around 1-1.5 hours each. Next Sunday we only have about 6 hours to play so speed will be essential. And I hope to break it up into 4 shows if possible.

Unfortunately, since I’m new to the recording software I accidentally erased the final 6.5 hours of audio. We’ll be recording again this Sunday and playing 42 or anniversary. And I’ll be much more carefully with the archiving. Thanks to those who listened and if you did please lea e comments on the blog so we know what you think. Shameless self promotion here but I just posted a podcast of my buddies and I playing the game and suffering from pitiful geographical knowledge, wikipedia-esque misinterpretations of history and general foolishness. And all of the first episode idiocy doesn’t even involve alcohol. This past Sunday I brought my laptop over to my buddies place and we recorded a session of AAClassic. We played an 8.5h game and I’ve just begun cutting up the audio. If you visit my blog you can listen to the first round. I’ve submitted it to iTunes and hope to have it up there soon but for now you can listen at dicetruction.blogspot.com or click the link and go to Podbean and download it there. We hope to record art least one game every two weeks when we play, and next time it will be either 42 or Anniversary. I hope you all check it out if not for the game play then at least to laugh at our utter lack of intelligence.
I’m fairly certain that this is the first A&A podcast, hopefully not the last, and if so, definitely not the best but something to while away the hours with anyway.

I agree with Xandax. In our last game I was Japan and the Soviet player stacked along the Manchuria/Korea border. I sent everything that could reach and crushed him, he got 12IPC’s but had a totally open Eastern frontier. If he’d have pulled them back and brought a few tanks and planes to confront me on his terms it would have went better for the Allies.
This PDF file can be printed and glued to 3X5 index cards they contain set up, National Objectives, Unit costs, and Diplomacy. They are a low ink solution.

Speaking of saving Pvt. Ryan. I recently discovered that your avatar is the roundel for Iran and not Italy.

Also even if they reversed the colour scheme it would be the roundel for Italy after they joined the Allies. I’m going to order the roundels with the fascist symbol from HBG http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/?category_name=hbg-custom-roundels
That seems like a minor problem. The bigger problem is if Germany waits till G4 the Soviets will be well prepared, and I don’t think Italy could sacrifice enough forces from the African front to help earlier than I3.
I found a couple of great apps for the iPhone with pictures of almost all the WWII planes in one and a ton of tanks and other vehicles in another. the only problem with the apps is that all the pictures are in profile it would have been nice to have top down shots as well especially for the planes. these will help to make better Italian planes for me as I just painted camo and the tri-color flag on them.

Another convoy question. Germany kills UK fleet in harbour with a convoy box (map not handy for SZ#) then during UK place units phase they drop a small fleet into the same zone. Now, during collect income does the German navy disrupt?
