RE: Read any great books lately??
Ah, yes. Stephen Hawking - I forgot to read anything by him. Must do.
El: If you´re serious about reading all those books, make the following consideration: Terry Pratchett has “invented” Discworld and as such most of his books have to be read in succession (although they can easily be read singly), whereas Robert Rankins books (although also containing a recurring theme) can stand alone. Have a great summer!

RE: IQ test
CC: IRT esl: If you take the languages in the chronological order that I learned them, english would be my fourth language. But I speak it better than the other three. I don´t feel that language was the problem in that test. Heck, I didn´t feel there were ANY problems in that test!!! They just gypped me!!!

RE: Neutral countries defend; not capitulate…
Hmmmmm, the neutral countries may have had some sort of defence, but compared to the war-machines it was neglilible (grossly misspelled, sue me). The 3 bucks paid to walk through the country could represent the loss of one inf unit, which seems realistic to me.
The point of neutral countries defending would be to even the game out more … ? -
RE: Rule Concerning Factory in China
El: Of course I´m serious. The US can build an IC in China in AA (although they probably won´t have China by the time it´s their turn), so the question seemed weird. Kinda like: Can the UK put its troops on US transporters? The answer to both questions is: Sure, go for it.
But then again, Bradford DID say it was a Pacific question……

RE: Read any great books lately??
I think we differ in what type of litterature we like, El. I don´t care too much for biographies (and history books - yawn! Reminds me of going to high school). I prefer books that either have a really good story to tell (Grisham, Clancy) or that are really inventive in their use of the english language (Adams, Rankin, Pratchet).

RE: Various Transport Questions
- Apparently this depends on what edition rules you are playing. 2nd edition rules p.16: "If you are launching an attack and the sea zone adjacent to the target coastal area is enemy-occupied, then your naval force including your cargo- laden transports must engage in combat before the amphibious assault can occur.
2)Initial placement of the Russian tr. is in the sea zone north of Karelia. Subsequent tr may be placed in the Baltic sea zone if it has been cleared og German naval units - again according to 2nd edition rules.
- This is a FAQ. Some argue that since the tr is bridging it cannot do it after moving two squares since its move is over. Agree to a rule before starting the game.
4)Illegal. Once a tr unloads, its move is over. It may not reload (and then subsequently unload). The question is, however, may a tr unload two inf in different areas if both areas border on the same sea zone.

RE: Panzer General
Panzer General is one of the best war-games (to me), because it is turn-based and not based on how fast you can move your cursor.
I have PG for the PS, and PG Assault 3D for the pc. I actually prefer the PS-game. Maybe because it´s possible to invade the US :P

RE: Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
I haven´t played CW since it came out for Apple a couple of decades ago. Could give it a try again I guess ……

RE: IQ test
IRT CC: I have a feeling that they also use age as an “inhibiting” factor. The older you are, the more smarter (oops, darnit!) you have to be. Perhaps speed was also a factor, since I spent soem time on the math problems; I can´t help it. When I see a math problem I gotta solve it!

RE: How about cleaning up the board?
Vote: whatever. Don´t see a big problem, but you´re right in saying that a lot of new posts are repeats.
FAQs: bidding, shuck-shuck, AA rules, tr rules All of which can be answered by using the SEARCH function. -
RE: Britain's Big Move
On UKs turn, there won´t be any German navy units anywhere in the vicinity of UK because G has used them as cannonfodder when taking out the UK navy. Besides which, subs can´t hit planes.
Also, the naval units north of Africa will have been destroyed by G, making an attack on the German BS and tr unlikely -

127. I´m insulted. Either that or I´m not as smart as I´d like to think. In any case, I better not tell my patients ……

RE: Is this kind of thing surprising anymore?
Not that sursrising. But I´m sure someone is going to have a field day exlaining this to the press.

RE: Bidding
Indeed. The search function rules. I have received my share of “hate-mail” on other sites because I asked questions that could be easily answered by the search function ……
