RE: On this day during W.W. 2
@wittmann:
Two weeks after invading Finland, December the 14th 1939, Russia was expelled from The League of Nations. Russia invaded Finland because they said they needed security for Leningrad, which was only 40 kms from the Finnish border.
The Russians were mightly humiliated by the tiny Finnish army, suffering far more casualties than they inflicted, despite having three times the number of men, thirty times the number of aircraft and one hundred times more tanks.
The conflict ended in March of 1940, with Finland having ceded 11% of its territory, but 30% of its resources. Russia had hoped to conquer all of Finland.Evil soviets! Can’t appreciate more the people who fought for independence and freedom of Finland and stopped the red menace. Impressively well done! Have to hail the Wermach too for assaulting soviets, letting the soviets to bite the same bread they offered to Finland :D Haha! Yeah, no sympathy for they did not give any to us.
There is a movie about Winter War I highly recommend to watch. It is not a typical hollywood war hero movie but rather a “reality” oriented view of winter war.

A short clip of the movie introducing our main anti tank weapon: the molotov coctail.

@wittmann:
Hi SA!
On 19th December 1941 Italian frogmen planted mines on two Royal Navy Battleships: Queen Elizabeth and her sister ship, the Valiant, while sitting in Alexandria harbour. The frogmen were captured, but both ships were still damaged.
Both were pre-WW1 Dreadnoughts, commisioned during the war and the first to be fuelsd by oil, not coal. Like most older ships, they had had modernisation work done to them prior to WW2. They were proud ships that had seen action in both wars and were to see more. Neither was sunk, although both were put out of action for some time, the Elizabeth for 18 months.Very interesting. I would be glad to hear more of succesful or brave actions by Italians in the war. What you wrote was the first I have heard.

RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
By the grace of God elected Roman Emperor, always August, hereditary Emperor of Austria, Franz I, does not change any politics and is eager to crush any threats posed at holy Austrian Empire.

Remember to be good boys by the way, or else a new Santa will come :D

RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
I think given the actual war situation it might be unfair to give Austria to another player as he’s close to winning the game (moscow, rome, and many available options from Lyon to Costantinople to Berlin to Peterburg)
He’s also close to outproduce France/UK but with a better geographical position and only 6 cities for victory.Hahahahahaha, you Noll never cease amuse and make me laugh with your propaganda :-D :-D :-D
(Sorry all for not taking a look here earlier.)
Will post my politics in a moment.

RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
As this is the second game in wich Make_It_Round sacrifices everything to attempt making another player (moilami) win, and this is definitely against the concept of these games (as you should try to win, not mindlessly sacrifice yourself in order to make another player win, ruining the fun of other players), I will not join anymore any game that features those two players together.
I will also play “Make_It_round” like in this game from this turn on, meaning, I will do my best to ensure another player win.
Hmm, we have played only one game before, and what you say has not happened in first game :-(
You were a BIG threat in this game for Spain, Austria, and Prussia. Your production would had soon been 3x of one nation of those. You were a huge threat to anyone sharing a border with you!
What you expect? Certainly it can’t be that you take minors one by one.
Think about this.

RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
Lol apparently I am winning the game and three powers dowing me makes me a good politician. (From the guy that asked 4 players to attack me)
I wont win this game but you wont either :) And it will be my pleasure to erase spain from the game and then kill every austrian unit. I hope I can do it before someone else wins :)Well, that’s your plan? Sounds good! I’m on :D
-
RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
France is winning the game and only a few players are doing something about it
Noll won the last game too, mainly because UK player in that game did nothing to stop Noll from winning - even when said well in advance that he will be the only player able to deny France from winning, and that’s why he must take cities in Sweden. But no, UK chose to be Noll’s free navy
Noll is the best in politics. He manages to do them in a way that half of the players play for a win for Noll :-o

RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
Austrian Empire declares war to France and accepts Alliance with Sweden.
As the tension between troops of France and Austria in Italy rises, Austrian Empire is forced to declare war to France.
“We are not happy to declare a war to France, but in order to maintain our independence and to protect our people, we must look critically into the future and acknowledge the threat France is posing to Europe. If Napoleon is not stopped when there is a window of opportunity to do it, then France will probably never be stopped and hundreds of thousands people will die. Therefore, there is no choise. This is our last chance to avoid unnecessary bloodshet in Europe.”
– Archduke Charles of Austria

He can try to take Moscow back. Been waiting for him to do his movements.

RE: Napoleonic FFA - 8players
Archduke Charles, the field marshal of Austria, congratulates Sweden for conquering Moscow.
“Russians will never disturb peace in Europe.”
(Thank you JWW of the game, and sorry for your bad luck. Like someone said, maybe join again for the next game? Take this current game as a learning experience.)

The Austrian Empire declares war to Russia and accepts alliance with the mighty Prussia.
“I can’t allow hordes of cossacks to roam around Europe”, said Franz I, the emperor of Austria.
Your done.I am going to kick your arse.
Ok. Just don’t ban me from this forum :D
