Gah, I messed something up with my U.S. placement. My tacs on Wake are supposed to be on Midway. I keep losing half of my NCM. If it’s OK, I will move them back, it did not affect China’s turn.
Ha! You fell into my trap! You wasted all your good rolls on worthless infrantry when I use all mine on navy and planes!
Retreating the last guy obvoiusly :)

The ruling is fine with me. If the developer says it, he says it. I simply wanted a more elaborate explanation than “no” so that I could understand the way they think about those situations better.
Also I think that posting on the dev’s forum counts as a “strenuous objection” :-D
I think I saved over an old map. I will try the combat one again here, and the end of the turn one as well. I had a lot of NCM to think about.
U.S. collects 55 + 30 NO + 1 saved = 86.

Well then my moves are mostly non-combative. The peace-loving and isolationist U.S. is only going to take a few worthless territories around the globe, and blow up your real undefended transport. Not like that fake undefended transport that almost blew up my planes.

No dice rolls for any of my combat.
Well, great. Now I have to reformulate my strategy. You cannot defeat me with rules lawyering alone, I will find another creative way to smite you!
OK, the US move has got me with a rules clarification.
I am planning to invade Korea using 1 transport, and use planes to cover against the scramble. The rest of the fleet will move out of z6.
The Pacific 1940 FAQ says that you may move units into an unoccupied sea zone on the principle that “the possibility that there could be combat is enough to allow the move.”
I have to assume that the same principle of “the possibility of combat” would allow me to use the rule which allows non-combat moves in the combat move phase to escape a hostile sea zone.
I wanted to verify that you do not have any strenuous objection to this.
Actually I have one addition since it kept eating my NCMs. Fortunately you have not moved yet, so I will post the update. My sub is supposed to be with the battleship in z113.
Can’t disagree with you there. Fortune was forgiving towards my aggressive placements. Mutual annihilation was better than I could have hoped for.
Russia 3:
We declare a peacekeeping action in China… though surely the bellicose government of Japan will consider this a declaration of war. I have adjusted your IPC total on the board.
Buys: 6 armor, spend 36.
Manchuria is liberated in combat moves.
Collect 37 + 1 saved (+1 from same purchase order last turn that I marked on the board, total 39)
Yeah, I will keep the planes. I can always buy another carrier right where that one blew up and I want to shoot down as many of you’s as I can.
Both destroyers, 1 on carrier, 1 cruiser.
Sorry for the delay, real life and stuff. You can change your buy if you want, or keep it. It’s a friendly game. :-D
France is done, to hopefully make things just a little more difficult for G3.
Wow, rough turn for Italy. Worse than UK2 by a lot.
France
The Algerian Resistance gives you the bum’s rush. On average they should hit you once in 6 rounds. On average they should be dead 3 rounds before they do.
Rolls: 6@1; Total Hits: 26@1: (6, 3, 1, 5, 1, 6)
Rolls: 6@2; Total Hits: 36@2: (3, 2, 2, 6, 5, 2)
Unfortunately I count 7 units to start with which took 5 hits, one on the battleship, leaving only 3 remaining units. 4 dice were rolled. Is it convention to drop the right-most hit? I think my return fire also wipes the attacking force then.
Hit to the destoryer.
Argh! My plans are foiled. More to the point, your plans are not foiled.
As if that turn couldn’t have gone worse for me with everything I attacked hitting me, I overlook something dumb.
Everything is exactly the same, we just forego that attack. Perhaps they received an abort order on the radio.
ANZAC buys 1 CV = 16.
They collect 14.
Italy is up, to do whatever evil they want.
That’s what I’d call a Mission Accomplished. (sigh).
London collects 36 +5 NO.
Calcutta collects 10.
The thing crashed and ate almost my whole NCM. I think I got everything back, but I might have missed something.
Now after you bounce off England, we will make the world a more polite place.
