    • RE: Getting extra pieces?

      @Variable:

      @Dr.:

      (In other news, I keep reading about “Karma” and “+1.”  What does this mean?)

      Nothing anymore. Ignore it.

      Was that something that used to be part of this forum, but doesn’t exist any more? I’ve seen people talk about it in very recent posts, and I also was wondering.

    • RE: Clarification Cruisers/Destroyers

      @moompix:

      The destroyers are the ones with the squared end.

      The Cruisers have two pointed ends.

      Accidentally sent this in a personal message, but anyway when I got the 1942 edition, I thought that’s how it was orignally. Somebody on BGG said otherwise so I’ve been using them backwards. Thanks.

    • RE: 3 Rules Questions…

      Malaya only touches SZ37, and Sumatra only touches SZ41. Shan State does touch SZ37 and SZ38 though and that’s in the Burma area.

    • Clarification Cruisers/Destroyers

      Hey probably a dumb question but I’m just making sure. The Cruisers are the ships with one pointed end, and one box type end, and the Destroyers are the units with two pointed ends (not counting the Battleships and Subs lol) correct?

    • RE: 3 Rules Questions…

      For the first question you can only scramble Fighers and Tac Bombers. Like you said it’s only for island defense, but you can choose to scramble 0, all, or anywhere in between at your discretion. You can even scramble a plane so that the opponent doesn’t get to bombard with ships even if you have no navy defending said SZ. The fight goes on until the attacker retreats his/her sea units, or until 1 or both sides have nothing they can attack with.

      As for question 2, there are territories which border multiple sz’s. Alaska for example borders SZ1 and SZ2. Any allie bordering Alaska if US has an airport there would get the bonus so SZ1 and SZ2, not the SZ’s touchig the SZ’s that touch the land (if that makes any sense). Soviet Far East also borders multiple SZ’s. It borders SZ3, SZ4, and SZ5.

      Call the number on the back of your instruction manual for that. They’ll send you a correct one in Feb when they’re available.

    • RE: Getting extra pieces?

      The problem with having so few is that Japan is fighting a war on multiple fronts. It’s unrealistic to think they’ll only have tacs on 6 territories. And yeah I know the game (and 1942 probably other editions) say you can write the unit’s name on a piece of paper, but I don’t think we should have to do that for any number of territories exceeding 6. Same thing for mech bombers. There are also even right from the get go, not many chips left after setting everything up. Lol looks like we’re on the same page Variable.

    • RE: Getting extra pieces?

      I’ll definately e-mail them tomorrow. I’ll wait until I get the script response, then I’ll call them. I like everybody else feel there’s no reason to pay this price, for a game with this many errors. Like some have said, any game of this calibur will have its errors, but WOW. I’ve set the game up once so therefore I didn’t even think how big of a problem this is. I’ve been a long time WotC fan from Magic, to Forgotten Realms novels, to D&D in general. And I’ve read so many good things about TripleA that I bought 1942. I then bought P1940 after loving 1942 so much, and learning that P1940 will combine with E1940 upon its release and I was sold. I’ll post here the responses I get to the e-mail(s) and if necessary the phone call(s). This is a fantastic website btw.

    • RE: Possible new rule book, and/or boxes with correct stuff?

      @MaherC:

      we paid them $90, they owe us the correct items.

      Yeah that’s true. As far as the set up goes, there are only a few minor differences there. If there were only a few rule corrections as well then cool, but yeah, There are way too many. And like I said before, for those of us without printers, it’s a pain to write all of the corrections down.

      @Veqryn:

      i just want a new rulebook…

      i’ll even pay for the shipping, just ship me a new rulebook please!

      I would totally agree to that and just write down the new starting set up.

    • RE: New National Production & National Objectives Chart

      @Bob_A_Mickelson:

      @Mino1124:

      That’s an awesome job creating that. On a related note though for the bonus objectives, besides the one that clearly says you only get the bonus once, how many national objectives are one time only, how many are per territory, and how many are for EACH TURN that the objective is met (such as holding X number of territories)?

      All bonuses except the one entitled “Once Per Game Bonus” are given each turn you fulfill the requirements listed on the chart below.

      Thanks for clearing that up.

    • Possible new rule book, and/or boxes with correct stuff?

      Due to the MASSIVE amount of errata ALREADY set for this game, and still not being complete I can’t help but wonder something. Will there be a new rulebook and box tops with the correct beginning placements on them? If there is an updated version of said things, will those of us who currently have A&AP40 be able to recieve the CORRECT versions of the rules, AND starting set up boxes, or would we be forced to buy the next printing of the game? I don’t have access to a printer, and I don’t want to pay the library per page printed nor write them all down by pen and paper. I feel that if either or both is updated in a new print, that those of us who currently own them should be able to get the corrected stuff much like we can the new battle strip.

    • RE: New to A&A

      One thing about bombardment to remember, is that you can only use as many ships to bombard with as you have units unloading on said territory. However there doesn’t have to be one ship per unloaded unit.

      Maybe that should be added to the errata?

    • Scrambling, then territory getting taken.

      Okay I’m sure there are already threads talking about this, but I searched for “Scramble” and none of them seem to answer this question. It was asked on boardgamegeek.com and nobody gave an answer. The question is the rules say that scrambled planes can’t enter combat for the territory, and that if the territory is taken, planes can move 1 space to an Aircraft carrier or the such. How is it possible for the plane to still be alive AND for the amphibious assault on an island to have been successful. Wouldn’t either ALL of the scrambled planes or ALL of the sea units be casualties, or the sea attack retreat? I’m confused how this is possible.
