Hey everyone, it’s me and I’m back to reawaken the drunken monster, if my own creation, that is this thread! cue booing

I have some updates to announce to everyone so I thought I might as well do it here, since I love being criticized and/or blatantly ignored!

Update #1: I’m sad to announce that national objectives will NOT be making their way into the core rules of this game. As they are traditionally, and would have been, entirely optional, I decided that they would be included in expansions that may be released in the future, when and if the community begins to take an interest in this game, or this thing ever gets off the ground. Which leads me to #2…

Update #2: Expansions are in the making! I am happy to announce that my team, (the two people generous enough to provide significant help) have been doing some work on planned expansions to enhance the game. Due to the level of work required for each of them, they include rules that were too optional to make it into the core set, but we’re still cool enough to have work put into them. Again as they are a lot of work, the team has decided to not devote serious effort into working on them unless we notice an uptick in community interest. Right now their just cool ideas were tossing around, but, as I said before, if you guys ask about 'em, we’ll do our best to make 'em happen. Things to look forward too: A more realistic (and destabilized) middle east and north africa, the Cuban missile crisis, UN security councils and more crazy ass diplomacy if you’re into that, awacs and other early warning systems, technology and hacking, and a realistic simulated economy! (I know @MonsieurMurdoch brought up another one in the making but I can’t remember what it was, maybe the space race?)

Update #3: Are you tired of playtesting this game with pieces from G40? Of course not, because only two people, including myself and my colleagues, have expressed any level of interest in playtesting! Well be annoyed no more, because yours truly, with the help of Historical Boardgaming, have been designing minatures, pieces and other shhhhiiii, er, stuff, (I’m trying not to curse to much in this post) specifically designed for this game! I’m talking historically accurate tanks, and actually mechanized infantry (not just that postal service van with treads the russians are using in g40)! However, I need your help! I know all of you will rip me to shreds, if I use units that weren’t significant, or common, or whatever, during 1955, so I will be releasing a list of what specific model of tank, fighter, etc. that I will be using to represent each country in just a minute, for people to criticize and comment on!

Will the soviet union get the requirement of all of their territories generating the same number of IPCs to ballance out the supermassive value of everything east of novosibirsk?

Have you heard of monopoly mega edition. Those allow sky scrapers, train depots, and add an extra movement die. How will you factor this in.

It’s not perfect, but it has the same level of detail as a regular axis and allies piece considering it’s size. I’m not sure I will need help designing anymore. I figured it out for myself.[0_1603832941634_Type 59 (1).stl](Uploading 100%)

Ah but you’ve then established a double standard. What would be the exact value of territories to money, 5 to 1? Or are we assuming that you just sell all the assets in the territory to the devil at the end of the game, and get the starting value of the territory? I also think that you should make it so that your territories generate more IPCs per round based on how many houses you built. IPC’s must not be confused with monopoly money.

Thanks I reached out to him but no word yet. I’m doing better then I expected, early jet fighters look pretty simple (early migs look pretty much identical to the sabre and starfire and whatnot) and we’re pretty easy to make, but my tank (the Chinese Type 59, just a rebranded t-55) look like a zamboni that got cancer and grew treads and a gun. I would download them from the internet but I worried about the legal issues with that, and most of the 3d models for the internet, are more complicated then normal axis and allies ones are. So, in other words, I’m still looking for help.

And you could have one of those domes you press in on to roll dice, like in the game trouble, that looks like the alien mothership!

I agree, I also propose for each unit, we have words written on it in a language other than that the unit is of, similar to mega pokemon in the trading card game. The words don’t have to actually make sense, just look cool.

Hey, everyone out there. Is anyone good at creating 3d designs for axis and allies minatures? Preferably with some sort of free cad software. I’m looking for a teacher or someone who can give me a few pointers. I’m working to create pieces for my 1955 Cold War game, so that people don’t have to use pieces from previous games. I’m working in conjunction with HGB (Historical Boardgaming), however, they do not want to provide money for a car software, and do not give out the information of their modelers. If your willing to help, just dm me or post in the thread.

@Eisenhower I was really just making a joke and trying to poke fun at other people on this site, however, in all honesty I am sure there are many people on this site who would be happy to show you how to play.

I also think we need to make it so that any damage a family pet does to the board can’t be fixed, and legalize tantrum induced board flips.

See but how can we incorporate a roleplaying element? These need to be new flashy and exciting, and Avalon Hill understands that what Axis and Allies gamers really want is something completely divergent from what all other A&A games are like, and what we say we want.

Hey, everyone! I was talking to Gen about possible Axis & Allies games. After Axis & Allies: Zombies, I realized Avalon Hill no longer has any standard for quality or historical accuracy, which is why I’ve come up with some of the following games. Kong & Godzilla: Pacific 2013, Axis & Allies: Downfall of Disneyworld, Axis & Allies: The Feds are Keeping Hitler’s Brain Alive Inside a Jar! Axis & Allies: Monopoly, Axis & Allies: 2016 Election. Any takers?

    • RE: Axis & Allies Community Map Files

I’m sorry to reopen a dead thread, people usually hate that, but I wanted to put my two sense in. I’ve done a lot of research into the legal BS that makes up Hasbro Legal. Hasbro owns Wizards, which owns Avalon Hill, who owns Larry Harris’ poor tortured soul, which designed Axis and Allies. Wizards of the Coast has a fan content policy saying what you offer has to be free, and NOT REQUIRE DOWNLOADING. I’m not sure how they expect you to distribute it, but they do say that you can’t require, money, signups or downloads. I think it might also have to be original, I’m not quite sure. But either way, I think you may be breaking the rules and may get a take down notice. This website has seemed to fly under Wizards radar for a while now so you might be safe, I’m not sure. Just wanted to let yall know.

However, this will likely change as I am working to trim the rules down to a minimum. One thing that will likely be cut is vietnam being a neutral power. It effectively functioned as a subsidiary of china, however, not entirely, so I’m not quite sure. Also for legal reasons, the game is called arms race, not axis and allies, however, it is still an A&A game through and through.
