    • Manchester, NH. 9 NOV Sunday

We will be playing AA (version tbd but of the 1940 era) on Sunday, 9 NOV at noon at Rock N Roll Meatballs located at 179 Elm St, Manchester, NH. They have a large back area with nice tables and they are more than happy to have us. We will have to pack up at 6pm, however.

They have great food and drink. Invite others even if just to watch a bit. Plenty of parking on Elm Street- note this is the southern end of Elm Street. Use the Queen City Bridge since there is some silly marathon going on in the center of downtown.

We have 4 people confirmed and a few visitors who will be with us.

      Thanks,

      Mike 603-660-3440

    • NH: Global 42, 6 Sept, 11am, Pembroke

Hi, a small group have been playing monthly here in NH. We are going to play Axis & Allies Global 1942 (a variation of 1940 which is being play at most tournaments and official games nowadays) as follows:

An air conditioned church function room which we have access to the whole day

We have 3 experienced players confirmed (Alex, Randy who has church access, and me)

https://smo63.fatcow.com/pdf/G42setup2013424.pdf which has the AA G42 rules

We intend to play to the end of the game… Food and non-alcoholic drinks are encouraged
There is a small kitchen area with stove, microwave and refrigerator. Bring a snack.

Email, call or text for any questions or items. 603-660-3440, mikpel at hotmail dot com

Note: to try to make the game go faster, we will encourage you to anticipate purchases and have strategies ready if at all possible.

New players: we will help you out… or partner you up with an experienced player. Invite others who may be interested.

    • Capitol captured, liberated, re-captured

Once your capitol is captured you lose your IPCs. If you liberate it, the IPC are re-calculated for your next turn. BUT, if the capitol is captured again that very turn, do you still lose all the IPCs once again? Thanks.

    • RE: Question about bombardment

Here is a unique take: while an amphibious assault takes place, the defender has a lone (and quite sad) transport in the sea zone. Can the attacker state one of his aircraft will hit the transport so the attacking battleship can bombard and support the amphibious assault? I don’t think the bombardment can take place in this case unless the ‘defending’ transport is totally ignored by air and sea. thanks

    • RE: Land aircraft in neutral allied territory

@fasthard CORRECTION: I was incorrect in my first interpretation: Here the Corrected answer please see the other replies and feedback: I am looking at page 11 of the 2nd edition of the European Rule Book for AA1940 under the topic of Unfriendly Neutrals.

    • RE: Land aircraft in neutral allied territory

@fasthard to continue on the example given above: if Germany attacks Yugo but retreats before conquering it, then the Yugo units can’t leave the territory BUT are allied. The Allies (for example, UK) could land a fighter there and then the units become controlled by the UK. Then, the next turn, if they survive (doubtful) the Yugo units are now UK and could leave the territory.

    • RE: More for Amphib Assaults, Pac 40

@krieghund But, can Japan scramble against US ships when it is ANZACs attack? That is, what if the US also put some surface warships in that sea zone in its non-combat turn- would Japan have to ‘fight’ them in the scramble or just the ANZAC ships? This is really complicated and might be not addressed by any current rules or errata. thanks (and this is mostly acedemic)

    • RE: More for Amphib Assaults, Pac 40

@tincanofthesea just getting back to this scenario: An empty US transport is in an Australian waters. On ANZAC’s turn, two ANZAC units (lets say INF and Arty) load up. On the US turn, non-combat, it sails to Carolina Islands that are occupied by some Japanese fighters. There are no Japanese naval assets in the waters around the Carolina Islands. There is no combat and no assault at this time. On ANZAC’s turn, the INF and Arty ‘assault’ or ‘unload’ and attack the Japanese forces on the Carolina Islands. Wow… this appears to be very unique.

    • RE: Dutch Territories & +30 rule

@krieghund two separate questions. both were answered. I am good. 1. the USA can’t get the Dutch Island bonus’ unless the island is liberated from the Japanese. 2. In AA 1940 Pacific, there is a 30 point immediate one time special bonus to USA for a Japanese unprovoked attack upon the Allies. Thanks, ,

    • RE: Dutch Territories & +30 rule

@krieghund Hi, I am being told by another forum board member today that a so called ‘new’ errata takes away the +30 rule for the unprovoked attack by the Japanese on the Allies. But, I can’t find that alluded to new errata. Any idea if there was discussion of taking that one time special immediate bonus from the USA? thx
