Nah - I think it is time to give this game up for good. It is impossible to even learn from my mistakes and become a better player - which I know I need to do - when 90% of my games are over because the dice decide them. I cannot even get into an end game very often because of it - and it does me (and my opponents) no good.

It could be argued that I am giving up too soon here - but - the last turn was a complete disaster for the Axis - losing over like 200 IPC of value - only part of which was due to my poor play. If I am going to lose, fine. Beat me - but I am tired of the dice on this server - I truly believe there is a problem with the random number engine in use - not just against me - but there is FAR too much variability in general - every game - every turn it seems.

Sorry to vent - you played well and had me beat - but I just would like to have a chance…

Oh - hey - just saw your post.

I was so worried about my blunder in Europe - I lost sight of the fact that if I took WUS, the game was probably over. Sorry for my dice rage :)

GG to you. You had an interesting idea there with the huge landing of US and UK. I was hoping to just weather that storm knowing that the US was going to get just the one crack I thought.

If I may offer one critique - there were a number of times during the game when you could have made a ‘free’ attack - for example, blitzing into a zone and returning, using a plane to kill a lone transport or situations where you could send in like 2 men and planes against 2 men and most likely get a good result. I took my time in my buildup, in part, because you were playing passively - and I played to that. Of course - that isn’t to say you were not sandbagging and would have nuked me at the right time…

Anyways - if you would like a rematch (as Allies again, or switch sides) let me know. I can see what I can do :)

Wow - I did not even realize that - until you said something. I guess I should have gone after Egypt earlier - but - forgot the official victory conditions…though, I figured getting Egypt was a huge problem for the Allies.

At any rate - GG to you too - certainly a long one - proving that Germany taking Russia does NOT mean instant win. I am almost afraid to review the game to see how many mistakes I probably made - but need to learn from.

I really should try a game as the Allies sometime - though, I am sure I will fair well - if you are up for a ‘casual’ game - since we hit our 3 game max in league play - let me know - I’d like to take the Allies.

Hey - GG to you as well. I had some very good dice in a number of places that allowed me to really sock it to the Allies (naval battles, in particular).

Would you like a rematch? Allies again - or switch sides with same bid?

There are some battles where there is no plan b. That is why I wish I had just continued the game - we would have had more fun that way and been a better gauge of our play….

Question: Would you be willing to concede the game at this point - I do not want to tell you what to do - I just think I have the US in a no-win situation.

If not, that is fine - I will concede to you. I have decided that it is time to step away from A&A for awhile as I have pretty much lost all the enjoyment playing due to various things.

Things have settled down a bit - of course that is due to a losing streak - oh well.

At any rate - I am looking to play a game of AA50 if anyone is interested. Furthermore, I am kinda looking at giving this league thing a try - so - if someone else is doing that and wants to make it an official league game for 2013, I am up for it!

GG to you as well. I thought after my fleet debacle off Australia I might run into some problems.

If I may offer one bit of ‘advice’ - and this was true of the other game I just finished - is that as the Allies you will slowly build up more money and units than the Axis - BUT - if you let the Axis run wild too long, you will not be able to do that. In this case, I think (as an American might say) you ‘nibbled’ around the edges too much rather than making a strike into the heart of Axis territory. I was able to focus all of my resources where I wanted them to go - rather than where YOU might want them to go.

If you would like another game, just send me a note sometime - I’d love to play again.

I’m game if you are still looking (and you don’t mind a game taking a while).  TripleA is OK with me.  I would prefer OOB since this is my first global game.  We can roll to assign sides to make it interesting.

Actually, you were doing pretty good last time, you just made a single simple mistake.

With some practice and victories under yer belt now, this should be a good finishing match-up.
