Hey, if the Allies go Japan first (especially in the Alpha setup) it could be really useful for the Chinese to spend 15 bucks a turn on tech.  They won’t be doing anything else but buying a ton of infantry because they can’t move anywhere.

Why bother rolling for tech if they can’t move anywhere? I think that if China is doing well enough to roll for tech, they don’t have to roll for tech.

Yes. Planes can always retreat. The only things that can’t are units which came via transports

But to add:

If the amphibious assault is called off during the naval battle before the units on the transports disembark, any planes (and land units attacking from other territories) that commited to that fight still have to go through one round of combat before they can retreat.

A transport must be escorted for its entire move in order to be exempt from sub attacks.  In case 1, the battleship escorts both transports to sea zone B, then leaves one at its destination and continues with the other to sea zone C.

In case 2, the transport going to C is not escorted because it made part of its move without the battleship.  They were not traveling together, therefore they are separate groups.  They just happened to be in sea zone B at the same time.

In order for a warship to be considered an escort, it must be dedicated to that task, not just be in the same sea zone.  This dedication is indicated by the fact that the warship accompanied the transport for the transport’s entire move.

Krieghund i put them on the board in horizontal position and each time i use one (no matter where) i put one of them verticaly on the board. It helps detecting where the kamikase locations are.

Replace it with Major are reduced to minors, and capturing power derives 18 income bonus from looting, minors are removed and capturing power derives 12 income.  No destroyed minor can be replaced witha new one in the same player turn. No other  income changes hands.

My armistice rules give the Allies one complete turn after the fall of Paris to move land units into French held tts as per “Pro-Allies” rules to claim them (and defending units) as Free French.  Thereafter all French held tts & units are treated as Vichy until Paris is liberated.

Ok, here it is. In AAREVISED. When they introduced artillery, Germany had a good reason to buy a good mixture of men, artillery, and tanks. If not, if they bought all tanks, unless they were playing against a Russian player who was worse than me, they lost. And planes were never purchsed unless in some extreme circumstance or again, playing off of other players lack of stragety. Tanks buy all others (except Japan) were rare and bad purchases. The odds largely favored men and artillery.

The points I have read about regarding Japan and tanks in the Revised version and before was not a problems of Tanks being to cheap, but by a horrific China and East Russia map that was obviously horrific. Unbelievable it took this long to correct.

I have played AAP40 a lot and see planes as a lot more usable the way they should be. To win a war you have to have great air power. If you are not buying as many tanks as planes. Something is wrong. I may be exaggerating a bit, but not  by  much.

Exactly- if you look at the hi-res pic of the board- it looks like the desert runs along the border between West and Central.  While the border itself it bright blue (not covered by the white of the desert as it is along the SW border of Algeria) the desert looks like it covers the entire border on the FWA side- making a crossing impossible.  But it Does need to be clarified.

The aa40 map should have usa aligned around the map, the pacific and atlantic should be wider with one more vertical row of sea zones, including azores and the two rows of sea zones in mediterrain.

During the civil war the North and South used different track widths also, because front lines moved back and forth so much, there were special units dedicated to changing trackwiths as ground was gained.

And Rome was conquered by barbarian hordes…  Just because a society is more sophisticated doesn’t mean it can’t be conquered by a less sophisticated one.

Ya. I used for extra pieces. They may only be the 5 main but id rather buy 2 42 copies than 4 1940 2 pacific 2 europe. Also i wanted the ICs and AA guns mainly. I use 42 to introduce friends.
