    • RE: Azores islands - strategic in WWII are missing

No, Lajes is a military base with a huge aeroport and several militar facilities. Nowadays is more important to refuel planes in case of war, because nowadays the naval units have a really large autonomy (for example nowadays a nuc sub can be below the water for many month).

Back in 1940, a base das lajes nos Açores (Lajes Base in Azores) was very important to support naval units (refueling and general support).

It makes all the logic in future versions of AA a Naval and Aerial base in Azores in the middle os the way from USA to Europe, and a wider Pacific Ocean with more sea zones (Naval base in Usa=3 moves and naval base in Azores another 3 moves, so in two turns USA still reach Europeif using Azores Base).

    • RE: AAG1940 at Gencon so far

I feel by the posts and the information that was released about aae40 and aap40 that aag40 may be the best game ever.

One question, the italian fleet is in this game more powerful than the british fleet, but was not all the way around in 1940?

I had the idea that the british fleet was by far the mos powerful.

Please more pics catching the whole aag40 map!

    • Azores islands - strategic in WWII are missing

Azores are 9 portuguese islands in the middle of Atlantic half way from USA and Europe and nowadays Lages is the most important naval base USA has due to the strategic location of Azores.

During WWII Azores islands were very important to refuel the USA naval squad.

As i said before, Atlantic is a lot wider in reality than in aa games. :-D

    • RE: Why no Belgian roundel on Congo?

Exactly. And one even bigger lack of logic in not having Azores in the map.

Azores are 9 portuguese islands in the middle of Atlantic half way from USA and Europe and nowadays Lages is the most important naval base USA has due to the strategic location of Azores and during wwii was very important to refuel the USA naval squad.

As i said before, Atlantic is a lot wider in reality than in aa games.

    • RE: True Neutrals question

the map is too pixelized, it seems that there is a brown net over Finland, Bulgaria and Iraq and a kind of green net over Brasil. Are there other pro allies territories?

      Proaxis: Bulgaria Finland and Iraq
      Proallies? Brasil?
How do you see if it is a pro axis or pro allies territory? Is the color, the borders or what?

    • RE: True Neutrals question

seems interesting.i am misssing something: ok its a noncombat move moving axis units to proaxis neutrals, but you take control ’ of the armies of this proaxis neutral and the income also, don´t you? so why not making non combat moves to all your side proneutrals?

    • RE: True Neutrals question

As far as i understood the rule, there are neutrals (with a total of 48 infantry?), pro axis neutrals (how many infantries?) and pro allies neutrals (how many infantries?).

And tell me if i am wrong, the axis players will ocupy all proaxis neutrals, and the allies players will ocupy all proallies neutrals to recieve the armies there.

This means that all proaxis and proallies neutrals will send armies to war and are historical neutrals but not in aa game anymore.

    • RE: Moving (wrapping) by sea from one side of the board to the other.

As some players have said, the problem is not with the land territories, but with naval units.

Anyway AA is a working project and that is what fascinates me the most. Fauls tend to be corrected in future versions.

In a future map perhaps that aligment could be fixed and maybe Pacific and Atlantic could be wider.

    • RE: Mega error with the global map! Mayday! Mayday!

You went too far guys. Zooming in some parts of the world (for example Europe and Mediterraen sea) was brilliant, but not aligning the maps was something bad to the beautifulness of the game.

Of course there can be a rule saying that if you are in sea zone x then move to sea zone y on the other map, but this is more the logic of portals. A map is supposed not to have holes/dead ends in the middle.

    • RE: Moving (wrapping) by sea from one side of the board to the other.

i have started a topic about this a while ago called “Megaerror with the global map”. There Krieghund gave an answer to that.

Anyway, for me that was a big disappointment.

    • RE: True Neutrals question

so every one is going to invade pro their side neutral to gain the armies. And all pro one side neutrals will be involved in AA war, although not in the real wwii.

      THIS SEEMS AHISTORICALL.

    • RE: Russia and Germany allies

Well, how could all this apply to aa game?

AA games are ifs in history. So if anyone thinks that is too dangerous talking about ifs in history, that i really do not understand why not, those persons should not play AA.
