I am convinced that axis have won if:

      • Hitler kept the non agression pact with SU. Propably both countries would have splited west Europe between the 2.

The axis woud definitely have won if Hitler kept the non agression pact with SU and Japan did not attack Pearl Harbour, keeping USA out of the war

well you are right in some points and may be wrong in others. My opinion is that is excellent to develop new ideas, but you are just altering too many points.

Try to make fewer changes and them we can all together develop the game instead of replacing the game.

German tanks were not superior at the begining of the war. But then Tiger was developed by Ferdinand Porche and this was by far the best tank in war.

      **Tech for Germany:

      • Super tanks - your tanks have now special armor - assigne hits as normal. Roll a die for each hit assigned to your tanks - for each 1 rolled the hit is avoided.**

Germany was really bad retreating to counter attack simply because Hitler did not permit his generals to retreat.

Rommel asked to retreat from North Africa and Hitler did not permit

In Russia many generals tried to convince Hitler to retreat to better positions and Hitler never allowed.

Inclusive many generals were sentenced to death as traitors because Hitler suspected they were not doing what he wanted (even Rommel was given two options - kill himself or be trieled to death - he chose to kill himself)

    • RE: Has anyone played against themselves lol…?

I have played alone a whole game.

It is very useful to learn the possibilities of the enemy. To think with the enemy eyes.

What i mean by this is when playing with a specific power sometimes we are unable to detect enemy weakness and possibilities cause we spend the time thinking of our weakness and strongness and are blind to the enemy weakness and strongness. When playing alone we become less blind to the enemy real possibilities and we improve our skill a lot.

Giving each power the tech to begin with might be very interesting.

      Another possibilitie would be:

each power has a different list of possible techs that can be developed instead of a common list of 12 techs equal to everybody.

for example: US and Germany could develop atomic bomb (both were trying but  USA was quicker in wwii).

      • Germany could develop a super tank and a super submarine
      • Japan could develop fanatic infantry
        and so on

in WWII there where competitive advantages that the powers had:

UK - radar / enigma decoded / very good in retreating to counter attack
USA - Bombers / atomic bomb
Germany - the best tanks and submarines / lack of adaptation to extreme winter conditions / very bad in retreating to regroup and counter attack / lack of radar / enigma decoded
Japan - numerous air units / fanatic infantry / weak tanks / codes deciphered by allies
      France - ?
Italy - indiscipline / lack of adaptation to desert conditions
      Anzac - ?
China - lots of infantry with lack of equipment
SU - an weapon unique to this power - a launcher of multiple projectiles at the same time equiped in a truck / very strong in extreme winter conditions

    • Krieghund - a brilliant new idea

When playing AAG40 a new idiea came by and was just fantastic:

There are 12 different developments and 8 powers that can achieve developments (except China).

Each development can be achieved by only one power. That means that if for example UK develops Radar, no other power can develop radar.

This made the game a lot more fun and diferenciated each power from the others.

portuguese Angola because was part of Portugal and because other territories in Africa were designated this way in the gameboard.

Azores would not be neutral. Would be controled by UK because there was an agreement with the portuguese government

Italy conquers yugoslavia a pró-allied neutral, some UK territories and keeps some original territories.

      Then Rome is captured.

Can German (while Rome is ocupied bu allies) ocupy and collect the income from:

1 - Original italian territories still controled by Italy

2 - UK territories controled by Italy

3 - neutral territory yugoslavia controled by Italy

    • RE: A sticky question to Krieghund

I see your point Krieghund but that does not make sense.

If i USA leave sea zone A with a battleship and 2 transports through sea zone B where is a German U-Boat and if i:

1 - leave one transport completely alone in sea zone B and the other transport goes with the battleship to sea zone C the u-boat cannot attack that transport completely alone
2 - leave the battleship and a transport in sea zone B and a transport goes to sea zone C the u-boat can attack that transport in sea zone B where that transport was never alone.

    • A sticky question to Krieghund

USA brings a transport and a battleship from sea zone a through sea zone b ending in sea zone c. There is a German sub in sea zone b but cannot attack the transport since it is with a battleship.

Question: if i have another transport in sea zone a and unloads on sea zone b can the german submarine attack since this transport came with a battleship and another transport but was left alone or can the sub not attack?

    • RE: Krieghund please help me with kamikase

Krieghund i put them on the board in horizontal position and each time i use one (no matter where) i put one of them verticaly on the board. It helps detecting where the kamikase locations are.

Azores is for Atlantic what Midway is for Pacific - isthe midway from USA to Europe.

Nevertheless Azores is more important for Atlantic than Midway for Pacific because Azores is all alone with no Hawaian islands nearby.

The sea zone i would like that Krieghund or Calvinhobbesliker or another master player would decide. There is more than one possibility.

Mongolia would have the same territories but the north ones would have mountains impassable separating the north mongolian territories from the SU territories. If you check a real map you will see that there are several mountains for real that were impassable with WWII technology and even with most of nowadays technology.

To simplify you could keep the southern mongolian territories and eliminate the northern mongolian territories. Just one territory makes no sense because it would be quicker going from east to west through Mongolia than through China or SU.
