      @Imperious:

      You need to take more Iron which gives the blood more oxygen. That makes the heart send this oxygen to your red blood cells that provide energy for muscle, which alleviates shortness of breath.

      I’d be careful with your wording. Iron doesn’t “give” oxygen to the blood, but it is a component in hemoglobin which is what allows red blood cells to carry oxygen.

      I’ve never heard of the band. I assume they’re a Christian rock group?

    • Changes from Revised?

      It’s been a while!

      Alright, my friend and I are going to play Revised tomorrow, but I was thinking I might try to play 42 with the Revised board and pieces. I know there are changes, such as the addition of cruisers and some rule changes, but I don’t know exactly what they are. Can someone please give me an overview of the differences? I’m familiar with the Global rules (I believe 42 uses the same unit prices and stats as Global?) so feel free to use those as references. Thanks!

    • RE: USA Pacific and Europe

      Well I don’t know what an eonomy is…  :roll:

      One of the keys to an Allied win is the ability of the US player to succesfully allocate resources to each theater and stop the Axis on both sides from getting victory cities. “Killing off Japan or Germany first” isn’t really a viable strategy because the other Axis can run rampant and secure the necessary number of cities easily if the US is uninvolved. Therefore, because balanced US spending is already “built in” (if the Allies want to win that is), I don’t think this is really necessary to add as a rule. However, if you can come up with something clever and fun, I’m all ears  :-D

    • RE: Dreadful Axis Mistakes

      In my opinion, while there are obviously many factors that one can look at when analyzing the Axis loss, I think the biggest mistake was getting the US involved. However, by the nature of the war and the goals of the Axis, US involvement may have been inevitable from the start.

      Honestly, I don’t see how you can beat American production. When a unified and willing nation has the capacity to build more guns, tanks, planes, and ships than much of the rest of the world combined, how can any opponent possibly oppose it?

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_production_during_World_War_II#Summary_of_production

      Check out the first table and compare just how much more the US alone produced than the rest of the Axis combined. If you’re a power that has massive goals (control and military domination of large swaths of territory), and you try to wage war against that kind industry, you’re in for a walloping. Of course, in a situation like Vietnam, where the flexing of industrial might is limited by small scale guerilla-warfare in jungles, American power isn’t invincible.

    • RE: Starting Moves USA

      @Darby:

      Thanks .

      How do you get the large anti-Japanesse Navy ?

      I can only buy 9 total pieces
      (and only 3 in WUS)

      a Loaded Carrier a turn would be 4 total I Guess so that’s close:
      cost is 37 per loaded Carrier allows 15 / turn for the Atlantic Side
      maybe a dd and a tt each turn ???

      Build three ships in Western US and build the planes in Eastern or Central.

    • RE: Conflicting answers. OOB or A +2 for Standalones??

      Perhaps it would a good idea to make one or more stickied threads regarding Alpha for the standalones. It seems like a lot of the new threads that are appearing in the Europe and Global sections are just people asking if they should use Alpha or not.

      aaminiatures hsas the right scale and aanavalminiatures also

      Then play with the miniatures…

      Constructive criticism is great, and even requested with the Alpha projects, but the scale of the units probably isn’t going to change, so why complain? Stultum est timere quod vitare non potes!

    • RE: Japanese/USSR Aggression paid out of Aggressors' pocket

      @Idi:
      WOW SgtSlitiz, Maybe you should have read the post twice before shooting your drunken gob off. I’ll go over it for you so you can hopefully understand the subject matter of this post. The opening line (EX.1) of the post (See below) clearly indicates that the 12 IPC’s is paid to the the bank by the aggressor. Using your example of Japan declaring war on the USSR then Germany getting an extra 12 IPC’s in cash when taking the Russian capital is irrelavent due to the fact that the money is paid by Japan to the bank not to the Russians. So, SgtSlitz just so I know my work is done here….Once again using your example I’ll break it down even further for you so hopefully you’ll get it>

      Japan - Aggressor (Pays 12 IPC’s)
      USSR - Defender
      Bank - Where the 12 Japanese IPC’s get paid to.
      Germany - Gets nothing
      SgtSlitz - Cut down on your Slitz intake before posting.

      (EX.1)
      Question: When the following attack happens should the aggressor be made responsible to pay the 12 IPCs to the bank instead of the bank paying it to the defender?

      USSR
      When the Soviet Union becomes at War with Japan
      Collect 12 IPCs, once, at the beginning of the turn following a declaration of war by Japan on the Soviet Union.
      Theme: Recognized national emergency.

      Japan
      When Japan becomes at War with the Soviet Union
      Collect 12 IPCs, once, at the beginning of the turn following a declaration of war by the Soviet Union on Japan.
      Theme: Recognized national emergency.

      Goodness gentlemen, let’s be civil, shall we? Anyway, in response to your question, the I think that it’s fine the way it is because it makes sense. I’m failing to see the logic of a power suddenly loosing industrial capacity when it attacks another power.

    • RE: Sample Quick Setup Chart for Alpha +.2

      I like the background, but the white is kind of hard to see and the font might be a little simpler. Also, the second line of units for Manchuria is indented inconsistently compared to the rest of the chart. I noticed that you have semicolons at the end of some lists (Shantung, Kwangsi) but not others (Kiangsu, Manchuria). I like the blue box for the sea zone, it makes the type easier to see. Maybe put a little more orange to help identify it more easily? I know that is a lot of criticism, but I’m just trying to be constructive (I certainly couldn’t make something like this). Hope this helps!

      Strategically I assume it was to give the Axis a boost, just as you said. Historically, perhaps Kiev and Sevastopol?

    • RE: India - What to do with it?

      @Axisplaya:

      I feel like a skilled Germany player would NEVER allow this to happen…At least not so fast…
      With his transports, germans will bring some infantry each turn to London, and your reasoning that they will built 3 units MAX doesn’t take this into account…
      If your skilled US player divide his income, you can totally forget about taking back london for a while…

      That’s all well and good, but if the Germans are shipping units over to London AND investing in building units there AND investing to keep their navy alive against the massive US forces, then Germany is going to fall to Russia quickly, no questions asked. In that case, neither the fall of India or London is of any real consequence.
