Yes, the owner of units gets to choose which units are lost. So, if I want to knock an opponents war ships and transport and he a numerous subs, I 'll send air but not a DD so that all my hits go on my target–the surface ships. It doies not seem right, but sometimes having a DD can work to your disadvantage.

I was thinking along the same lines. The game was dragging on. It was your win. I guess i just don’t like to live with my mistakes, so something I have to work on.
And you’re absolutely right about brain power and time expended when you could be using it for something more productive. But I’ll probably keep one game going just because I like playing. Thanks for the game and time. Take care

Why don’t you start a new game thread, and start it in the “Play Boardgames” folder instead of the “League” folder? That’s where non-league games ought to go. Then you can redo your move accounting for the possible scramble to Normandy.

Recreating was easy at this point - just two small battles so I just let them run through again and then corrected to what MARTI had seen. The topic ID is different (and should be the same in the file I just sent you), 35674. So, I just plugged that into the browser and sure enough, that’s where the game file is!
