      OK Harry, ich habe es so richtig verkackt. Wenn Deutschland sich in Runde 6 zurückziehen muss und Japan nicht gleichzeitig ein Riese ist, ist das Schicksal zwangsläufig.

      Ein großer Fehler war der späte Angriff auf Russland mit der Folge, dass Deutschlands Einkommen zu lange viel zu gering war und gleichzeitig Russlands zu hoch. Und wenn dann noch Kill Germany First kommt, wird es schwierig. Viel Erfolg bei Deinen nächsten Partien - ich mache mal wieder eine Pause.

      @Martin Yes the “miss” on my part was using Japan’s bomber offensively when it could have at least NCM’d from Manchuria -> Germany to give one more HP to the units there. That might have made some level of difference in the final fight but in hindsight, once the UK air got as many kills as it did it was unlikely that Germany was going to survive.

      Yeah, I must have missed something in my test runs with Russia. Initially I hadn’t planned on holding Stalingrad, but I ran a bunch of tests to see if it was possible. When some of the test turns turned up it was possible I changed my mind. Obviously, I didn’t do something correctly on the live turn.

      I wasn’t trying to win those battles in the Pacific just get those ships and planes off the board as I saw the trade worthwhile. Taking planes and possibly ships would have changed what I had to invest with Britain in future turns to contain Japan.

      I didn’t execute Europe at all well. I tried to do everything slowly instead of choosing a point of attack when I needed to. I don’t have too much experience with that version of the game and didn’t recognize that I didn’t have the time to methodically build up more forces.

      Well, that’s it - my act of desperation did not work out. Congratulations - I need to find a special weapon for my Axis to beat your patience with the Allies, LOL. And I believe I have lost all of my games with the Axis against you, because I didn’t take re-taking France serious enough, or too late.

      To be honest, the restoration of France was a desperate gamble by myself, you were on course for a win at that point. I was lucky with the key battles and held on just enough against Germany to allow the US to pure it’s entire output into the Pacific. Otherwise Japan would have run even more wild. You played well enough for a victory, but lady luck was smiling on me.

      This was another awesome game with many ups and downs and LOTS of action :-) I still remember what you said at the beginning: “I can’t believe it is still only round 2, so much has happened already!”

      It only took another 17 rounds after that…

      My Japan was as strong as never before, but this didn’t help against your well played KJF strategy.

      I was secretly hoping to benefit from your longer break, but you seem to be stainless and never rust…

      So I am looking forward to playing the re-match with switched sides, most likely in February.
