      I rushed, as I wanted to speed up the game, feeling Sovietishcat’s breath in our neck. I am not happy with the Japanese turn. No bullet was fired, and I would like to re-do the turn completely in the evening, if you agree.

      Fortress America

      Not directly A&A-related, but I will give it a try :-)

      Does anyone know how to play Fortress America? I have bought the MB board game on eBay, read the rule book, watched YT videos, and we were still too stupid to start round one - too many questions were open. Frustrating. Maybe there was too much Axis & Allies in my head…

      Back at my PC. Thank you all for your quick feedback!

      I have to admit that we both started to play using an older version and then upgraded during the match - to slightly different versions (FlyingBadger 2.6.14195 and me 2.6.14366).

      This was last round, and it worked fine without any issue. This is the first time though that a file was saved in the middle of combat.

      And yes, I reported to TripleA.

      As I mentioned below, the chances are high that FlyingBadger will win. I was first considering to have FlyingBadger move forward in the Playoffs but continue playing this game for the league. But in the end, it is as it is. And if the Axis did not manage by round 15 to take Russia, Persia, or Australia, something is going awfully wrong. And as Gamerman said, once Berlin has fallen, Japan needs one additional Victory City, and this is even less likely to be accomplished, ,as it will be Japan against the whole world.

      Unfortunately my status changed from “playing four games in parallel is just fine” to “a single game is currently too much”, this year. So I am more than happy for everyone to have and to invest spare time to run the league and to help organize it!

      Thank you very much for all your work and commitment, Gamerman, and now to MrRoboto as well!

      Having posted that, I certainly hope to be favored in any future moderator’s decision, LOL :grin:

      @MrRoboto after a first quick (!) screening, I like this system very much. I just do not agree with this drastic decay if 10% per month starting six months of absence.

      This would mean a drop from 2600 to 1400 in one year. I do not think that Fisher or Kasparov would have liked to fight their way up starting an ELO of 1500 again. 10% decay per year seems reasonable to me.

      @MrRoboto yeah, overall ratings are a “nice to have” and nothing more.

      I do not know if there is any sport with overall ratings - you see individual ratings for variants:

      Track & field: 100m, 200m etc
      Tennis: Single, double
      Swimming: Breaststroke, freestyle, etc
      …
