I can finally post some pics without links. Thought I’d share some of my painted units for your consideration. Here are some of my early SS units.

The flags (along with graphics for task force boxes) are available on Historical Board Gaming’s website under maps. I donated them as a free download.

As for inserting the pin, I simply gradually pushes it through the hands with use of a thimble. :-) I still suffered several poked fingers. It definitely takes some patients.

Glosscote and attach flags. Easy. :-)

Do boots, accessories, then base. Then clean pin of any paint.

Follow up with uniform.

I paint the flesh tones first.
Edited:  I forgot to mention to wash and prime the unit prior to painting.  I used a clear plastic primer (Valspar) for these.

Insert pin through the hands and stick deep into the infantry leg to anchor it.

Next trim the rifle stock off.

Next cut the rifle top off.

I’ve had a few people contact me about the flag bearer infantry I made for my task force boxes, so I thought I’d post photos of the steps used to make them. So start with a Japanese infantry unit.
