Communism doesn’t exist…never has…what the USSR and Mao China were extreme socialist, but you can not have true communism…just like we are not a true capitalism society and haven’t been since Anti-Trust rulings in the early 1900s (and with the advent the Progressive movement and of the New Deal).

    • RE: Tech question 47

I could understand why Russia might consider risking it, but considering you have to preserve your lines as much as possible, I think it would be a waste.  I could understand the US spending 3 dice worth every turn though, cause that’s still 37 you have to spend (until DOW), but I just wanted to see what others did because I have 1-2 weeks to learn as much as possible.

As I’ve said before, the Axis can win w/o Africa.  I’d hope that I’d be using those planes to poop all over Stalin.  You know Germany’s goal is Moscow, not Africa.  Hell, I’d rather lose them in an escort in an IB raid again UK/Russian than waste them on Africa.n  Germany focusing on Africa is like taking your eye off the 8 ball in pool…  if you’re not careful, you’ll scratch.

Not as bad as the Taliban having a more favorable rating than Congress!

Good to see I’ll be moving to the most favorable country in the world in October! ( I assume they didn’t ask those Whale Wars people).

France? I hated Paris…I actually enjoyed South Korea a lot more…they’re great people, I would just recommend not having your eyes open while in a taxi (buckling up would be a great idea too).

    • RE: Worst Axis Mistake

The answer for the Pacific is simple….while Pearl Harbor was a brilliant idea, the fact that they missed the carriers by a week, and didn’t hit ANY fuel tanks.  The planning officer should have been shot.  Why it isn’t on here (3/4th waves?? c’mon) as a whole baffles me.

For Germany, it was putting their faith in the Italians in the first place.

Only time I would risk a plane is if I were UK/US and I saw I could open a hole in German lines for the Russians to exploit…being that it’s an island, unless its UK or Japan, it ain’t worth it.

Or did we?  Where did we get most of our stuff for over 50 years (till those damn Chinese got into it)?

      1. Any plane, any time! And yes, the trans go away assuming you survive the onslaught.

      2. Yes, but why would you risk losing a fighter?

    • Tech question 47

Does anyone actually mess with tech (like save 5 for the US per turn, then like on turn 3 or 4, gamble?).  Learning Global, so just trying to see what people do/expect to see.

    • RE: UKEast

would another fighter then help (either bought or imported).  Then use the rest on inf from there on on out? Just a defensive strat thought.

Now, are the mechs more for opening up the Middle East for the Russians or an attack in Japan’s direction?

    • RE: UKEast

noob question (insert insult here)….so why wouldn’t you just get an AA and make a last stand at India…if he’s going to make you irrelevant, why not take every SOB with you.  Wouldn’t having two AAs and all inf by the time Japan gets there provide enough of a deterent for a couple of rounds…with this and an ANZAC defensive posture, does this give time for the US to shove a boot up Japan’s brown eye?

    • RE: G1 build and German air power

I got tired of seeing the Axis win, so I thought, frak it, have the Brits buy carriers, and I support with nothing but fighters and bombers (since fighters can’t provide escort into Germany)….so the mo’fo brings all 6 Japan fighters to Berlin when I had Bombers into position.  At least the nuclear blast in S. Europe was beautiful.
Done the 2nd Bomber.  I like it.
When I buy fighters, I stop buying subs…understand that the Brits can block it, but they’ll be expending cash they can’t afford…Besides, if they’re spending money to block my subs, who the hell is going to take out the BB?  The Russians?  They can’t afford to lose fighters.

    • RE: G1 build and German air power

See, the problem is you guys are buying the units I’m not buying.  I realize this was originally an air power post, and I originally said I think air power is a G3 to 5 move for me because I keep planes in France/Germany as a deterent for invasion/IB (I know I leave S. Europe open, but I can’t cover every flank with this strat.).  I understand your math, and agree with you, if I were buying planes…but I’m not…not yet…therefore my force on E.Europe hovers and prevents stacking in Ukraine unless you are willing to go with out air coverage.  And that’s what I’m hinting at…stack away…without an AA or aircraft, your stack is target practice for the Germans.  Weinershcniztel for everyone!

    • Japan players?

Ok, so I’ll be there in October, but any chance anybody plays around Yokosuka, Japan?  I’m going to hate life if I can’t play out there …

If I could get to Vista, I’d be ok with that, but my car is on the East Coast….Old town is easy because it’s right off the blue line.  I guess I could buy the drinks!

I also understood what he meant about the subs…but one sub versus a BB and carrier (understand the planes can’t attack), but you’re telling me a sub has at least a 50% chance of winning this (or at least eliminating the carrier and BB?)?  Not going to happen.  Stranger things have happened, but c’mon man! Then if I do get a DD on J2, I still should have plenty of cash to buy at least 6inf to ensure a full load to dump on Asia (due to origianl numbers, I should have 2 units left over on Japan), and toy around in the Pacific with Aus/NZ.
