      oops…guess I messed up the quote block…

      As for TNG vs. DS9…TNG messed up by not having enough arc episodes…my favorite episodes involve the Romulans for TNG…a blown opportunity to do more with it but did decent with the Klingon Civil war and others due to Romulan interference.  It was one thing I was happy about with Enterprise was the arc…  And we shall not mention that one show with the female in charge that got them lost…AWFUL!

      @Imperious:

      Gul Dukat should not be on this list. He’s not even real.

      I thought I would just stick to pyschopaths….

      I did several research projects on Stalin going through school and 20 million would be a very very conservative number.  He did have a lot more years on Hitler though, because he was there from the beginning, so that’s why you will find the numbers will never be solid…the Revolution itself put a lot of blood on Stalin’s hands…and after Lenin’s stroke, he had a free pass as essentially being the #2 or 3 (depending on how you look at it)…

      It’s funny that you can say this and that about Hitler and Stalin, but given %, Khan actually had done way more crazy poop than those two combined and he had no tech.  He’s also responsible for almost 10% of the genetic makeup of the world (High five bro! thank goodness no alimony payments back then).  To say Stalin didn’t directly effect the numbers is weird becaus I’m sure Hitler didn’t personnally execute every person either…

      While the poll was to get a conversation going, c’mon man…it has Steinbrenner and Dukat in it…how serious are you going to take this…I almost added Colonel Sanders, but realized he only was killing criminal chickens that deserved to die, so there is no crime in that.

      As for Gul Madred, how can you top such “Dukat-isms” as…

      A true victory is to make your enemy see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place. To force them to acknowledge your greatness.

      A good interrogator doesn’t allow his subject to die; you lose the advantage.

      Cardassians don’t make mistakes.

      I prefer the title ‘Gul’ - So much more hands-on than ‘Legate’, hm? And less pretentious than the other alternatives - President, Emperor, First Minister - Emissary!

      I’m not just and Cardassian…I’m Gul Dukat!

      @Jermofoot:

      I don’t get how people can pick Stalin.  The logic of “killed his own people” is lost on me.  Hitler killed “his own people” and everyone elses.  He costarted a war that ended in over 50 million people killed, 11-12 million of which were by his own extermination policies.

      Please remember who then brought on 45 years of the Cold War….He industrialized Russia, stole our nukes, and aided the Chinese.  There are always the rumors of “expediting” Lenin’s death, his group exiled Trotsky, and he eliminated his own friends not only from life, but from photographs, propaganda posters, and historical records…if they were some threat, they probably were not going to be for much longer.

      While I am by no means condoning what Hitler did, cause and effect PUT Germany into this position.  The ridiculous terms of WWI put Germany into in almost no-way out scenario with the exception of what was done.  It was easy for fear and anger to take over.  Look at France after the fall of Louis XVI…fear and anger took over, and soon Europe was plunged into war…you can find this theme over and over in history…terrible economics forces the people to revolt, and then they take their blame out on people…

    • RE: On this day during W.W. 2

      Invasion of Saipan started today…if you’ve ever been, it’s an interesting place…Golfing around WWII relics (beautiful views too) and have to love the fact that “massagie” girls will risk their lives crossing a busy roadway just to ask you if you would love a massage…A lot of nice out of the way beach cabans, but the PIC hotel is awesome (what can be better than lounging in the lazy river and getting drink after drink (you don’t even have to leave the river!)

      I feel to ensure we can get the most out of it, Alpah 2 would be good for now…I have the rules and the Allies figured out, but currently trying to reverse engineer it by trying to see what the Axis would do…I’m new to this version, but I will be there Sunday…Margaritas after?  :evil:

      Ok….learning here as I go…(under Alpha 2, and no, I don’t know OOB rules).

      1. Allies land in DEI, it’s theirs.  Get IPC. Combat or NCM?
      2. US once at war can take S. America.  Combat or NCM?
      3. UK goes after Iraq. Combat or NCM? Am I attacking the two Iraqis?
      4. Russia can’t go after any neutral.
      5.  US or Germany take Spain/Portugal…Combat or NCM?
      6.  I guess a lot of it is how do you get the troops?

      :?

      Please upgrade my knowledge.

    • RE: Favorite Year Of WWII

      I did Poly Sci in college, so besides what was going on abroad, it was the election of 1940 that added intrigue to help this year top it for me…  Would FDR run again?  Would the isolationists prevent us from doing anything?  Was America headed towards full blown socialism itself?

      Axis: Defensive Germany and Offensive Japan….ALWAYS…never deter from strat.

      Allies:  Really depends on how froggy I feel…If I think I can pull it off, I go KJF…The best part about it is watching Japan going into freak mode…but if I’m playing with multiple people and don’t have a warm fuzzy that England can distract Germany enough, I have to go full on KGF…I think with the Allies I always have an option…There are times though when I’m the US and I have this odd feeling to stab Russia in the back…

    • RE: Worst Axis Mistake

      @wittman:

      I put strikes on Pearl, because I wonder how much a few
      more months repairs and set backs would have helped Japan’ s conquests and then consolidation of them.

      Without a carrier fleet and fuel for the subs and carriers,  there is no threat to the Japanese fleet….free reign on Pacific, Hawaii falls, California coast endangered immensely (would not have fallen to invasion, but good luck trying to counter this)…and Panama would have surely fallen.
