      Ohh I knowww - after Italy got to 20+, with no forces in sight to do anything but slow them down, I knew I was toast. But I knew I could learn a lot by trying to make the most of where I was - far more than trying to learn while I was winning every where.
      Might be a day or 2 before I get to the US/UK. I have enough Irish blood in me that I have to go down swinging, and pondering the best of a bunch of hard choices takes a bit.

      Thank you! I i knew in straight economic terms, it wasn’t good. But i was thinking i could take out the jap DD’s used to take mine out to even the odds, mostly using UK forces, which would also remove some of your blockers, lessing the TUV swing and adding to what was my intent: strategic placement - saving calcutta for a turn or two and take advantage of that reprieve. My plan was to be able to hold the carolines with the us/anzac force, and pressure sz 6, east asia, and the philipones. But after i saw how it looked after your move, wasn’t so sure it would work, or even matter if it did. you moved mostly like i had thought you would have, but once it happened, i realized how strong it was, much stronger than i had pictured in my head. Your plan is clearly better for that overall goal, with the much better odds against any counter attack. I think the tuv swing would have been worth it if i had done that.
      Wow. 2 big lessons in as many turns.

      Funny how what looks like a mistake can look planned. Looking back at it - i see why it worked, and it isnt an obvious bad choice - anything less would have allowed italy to can open, and germany could have pushed onward. Expensive, yes - but sometimes the price is worth it. I’m going to replay that out on my own, both ways. I hadnt looked at it that way, and there is certainly a fortuitous lesson here.
      Speaking if expensive blocks:
      What do you think about the triple destroyer blocking in the pacific? It played out as i thought, still pondering how to leverage it. If i can at this point. Stalled you by at least 1 turn into india, and kept some of the dei from you for at least this turn and the next.

      That went better than i thought - I really thought about pulling out of egypt and trying to recapture - but the odds were worse than staying. Underestimating the vichy effect seems to be my biggest issue with this game. Everytime i think of any move - i come back to “but how does that help me slow italy? How does this prevent me from slowing italy?”
      That analysis of the pacific gives me hope, because here is the rest of the plan:
