An Airfield costs 15 IPCs. Anzac starts at 10. So no first round buy, 2nd turn you’re putting down an airbase?

RE: New Zealand
I feel bad for the people out there who open the game and have no idea about the 30000x changes because they don’t know about this site or even think “Gee, this is a brand new game, I better make sure they didn’t change the rules!” And not to mention the fact that there is still nothing official about changes on WOTC’s site, the first place I would think they would look.

RE: Printing fixed object on the gameboard…
I use Avery sliding Bar Report Covers to hold the board together. I used them on AA50 and WW2 The Game as well. There is minimal damage if any. The compression is spread over the 11 inches
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/429258/Avery-Sliding-Bar-Report-Covers-Assorted/It is also reasonable cost incomparison to an idea a chimp told me……
Make an inlay on MDF board…Thanks for the link, I went to staples earlier today looking for those and the girl working said she had no idea what I was talking about when I asked for those. I remember using them but apparently kids today turn in their papers via ustream while twittering their teachers who are busy talking about myspace drama on facebook. Now I know what they are called.

RE: Japanese Bonus
I’d love to see a game where you are getting +15 and the game hasn’t somehow ended…
-
RE: New National Production Chart
I believe the official word is it is a one time bonus of 5 IPC. A morale boost I believe it was called. Yeah, we took the marshall islands! WOO! what was there opposing us? Um, a flag. Yeah but it was a big flag…

RE: New National Production Chart
it says one time bonus under it on the new chart.
skydrive let’s you host 1600pixel photos or 50mb files I think.

RE: Dutch territory
Is WOTC owned by the Sheinhardt Wig company? Would explain a lot.

RE: Air Bases-Do they create super stacks?
I’ll say this much. I have yet to see a swarm of scrambling fighters be the make or break for the game. both sides can do it. and seriously, if anyone can tell me how the allies win, outside of a COLOSSAL failure on the part of the Japanese player, that would be great and appreciated.

RE: Ok We Give Up
US “fleet” such as it is at start cannot make Carolines until turn 3. Philippines can fall J1.
I’ve had input from basically one person on what you buy as US1/2/3. And according to his post he will have his starting navy, +1 more carrier, and 500 DD’s and LC’s.

RE: Dutch territory
I would like to suggest that the great unwashed horde of us should get a look early at anything that will be different for AA40E and AA40Glbl. I’m sure this would go against everything corporate that is WOTC, but seems to me that having the rules for a month+ has enabled the community to pick them apart and find what needs to be fixed. IF we were allowed the luxury to have them for E/Glbl with a month to look at them before rulebooks were printed, maybe we could help avoid these issues. Pipe dream I know, but how about this time at the very least can we get the intern that is typing all the setups and map names out a dictionary or access to google maps?

RE: Air Bases-Do they create super stacks?
not really sure how this is a problem, nor historically inaccurate really. Midway launched 60+ planes at the 4 jap carriers (who had about 275 planes on them). Bombing raids in Europe saw 376 B17’s hit Schweinfurt on one mission. I personally hope the Japanese put 20 zeros on the Carolines rather than the home island…

RE: Getting extra pieces?
Just give up like we did and paint the anzac tac bombers white, use them on the ground. keep the originals for the carriers.

when TripleA is fully functional for Pac40 you got it. I’m not dicking around with Abattlemap for 12 hours.

RE: Ok We Give Up
I think you guys worry too much about China as Japan. On turn 3 there are 19 planes hitting Yunnan, and even if you are lucky enough to have the Burma road open for that extra 2 guys, and get some british units in with 12 or so Chinese infantry, it isn’t holding up to that attack. Are the Japan players out there too stuck in the ways of AA that they refuse to use planes as soakers? Industrial raids starting J2 pretty much take care of the UK buying anything. Money from the DEI starts coming in J2, by J3 you are getting 20IPCs from it, who cares about 1 ipc from a Chinese territory?
Again, I’m just wondering if you are US and Japan kicks it off on J1, what are you buying on US1,2,3?
Without getting crazy detailed here (as I have no access to a board right now) assume that Hong Kong, The Philippines, and the British Navy off Malaya, and the US transport at Hawaii have been wiped out. You have 17 IPC on US1, it’s your buy…

Ok We Give Up
Assume a J1 attack. What are you buying with US Turn 1, 2, 3 ?
Again, my group feels the game is Jap win 100% of the time (with 9 games played showing those results, different players etc. playing Japan.) But I keep reading how this is an ALLIED game. I’d like to see what you are buying / doing that we are missing out on.

RE: Opinion poll: Who is favored to win? (Day 36 to 43 from release date.)
ah but apparently it isn’t even in small samples or large.
my group has japs win 100% of the time, but from what i’ve read on the boards here, it is an allied game (like all AA variants sadly) and America always wins apparently.
it seems to me that this game comes down more than others to that huge epic fail on the part of one player to determine the outcome. A little too much like chess for me.

RE: Printing fixed object on the gameboard…
I thought about those but assumed they would dent/scratch the board. Wanted to find some of those longer, softer plastic ones that went on the edge of a paper (usually with some colored, translucent plastic sheet to go over the title page) but can’t seem to find those as kids no longer write papers apparently.
I blame twitter (shakes cane)

RE: Naval Base in Alaska wins the game
makes me wonder how much the game was actually “playtested” honestly. The errata is going to be bigger than the rulebook.

RE: Printing fixed object on the gameboard…
more of a problem for me is the 2 boards moving when bumped. Causing issues with pieces moving. Also, if they printed on the board, then there would be a Maj IC in Australia and a Minor in NZ which have since been removed from the starting setup. Think of how much fun those would be to deal with…
