Avin, were you and others looking for where in the Bible Saul changed his name to Paul? Wasn’t it here:

      Acts 13:9
Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said,

God has stopped by this board many times through those proclaiming his word.

Sometimes God really does show people things like cracks in the Earth with tormented souls (i.e he showed John the Apostle the future in the form of Revelation), but usually you have to be really close to God to get something like that. My grandmother was really close to God but was troubled that 3 of her 4 children weren’t Christians. After a while, she had a dream that she was in heaven, but saw only 1 of her children there with her. She asked God where the others were, and he replied “They will be here with much prayer.” That sort of thing happens when you are close to God.

Christians aren’t accepting the whole Christian premise on blind faith either. Almost all Christians have had God reveal himself to them in some way (i.e. answered prayer, evidence of divine protection, guidance through life), and that is why they keep their faith. However, it is true that you have to accept God by faith at first, like a little child. The miraculous answered prayer comes later.

“Only in a universe of unlimited resources can all men be brothers”

Robert Zubrin, in the Case for Mars.

He was saying that we should colonize Mars and other planets because then there would be more resources to go around and people would fight less.

Don’t forget, that as Japan, you want to get 2-3 fighters to Germany by say round 4 or 5 to help Germany defend. You can land them in Egypt after you have held it for a round, or if by some miracle Germany has managed to keep Egypt for that long.

By the way, mpeder, there is no limit to the number of units you can have in any one territory. That’s what the chips are for.

I agree. If he has heavy bombers then put AA guns all over as much as you can.

As far as the US fleet, I use minimal forces. I attack it with both battleships and the sub and the fighter from the Carolina Islands. Usually the US makes 2 hits, so I lose the sub and 1 battleship. Then the US usually attacks the remaining battleship and that draws their battleship away from Europe for 1 turn.

I prefer Coke because it has more caramal flavour, while Pepsi tastes a bit peppery in my opinion. Pepsi is good for slurpies.

As for the car thing, I like Dodge, but a BMW or Honda will probably outlast all three.

    • RE: Where does E.T. come from?

The available bonding slots has a lot to do with whether you can get life out of molecules. Hydrogen has a valence of 1 (one slot), so you can only bond it to one molecule. Oxygen has a valence of 2, Nitrogen has a valence of 3, and Carbon has a valence of 4. Silicon also has a valence of 4, which is why Silicon is considered as a possibility for forming life. Having a valence of 4 means that you can bind the maximum number of atoms to the atom, and can form all kinds of chains. Helium is a noble gas, so it is most stable not bonded to anything.

Another factor is whether you have a solution in which reactions can take place on the base molecule. Water happens to be the perfect solution for carbon based reactions to take place, which is why scientists look for water when they are looking for life.

Oh ya. You could also have life on the moon of a gas giant if the moon had an ocean (covered by ice or not) and an internal heat source if it was covered by ice (like Europa).

    • RE: Where does E.T. come from?

In order to have life on a planet (let alone intelligent life), you need a medium sized star containing the right amount of metals and hydrogen, a planet with the right amount of mass, the planet has to be at the right distance from the star, the planet has to be in a nearly circular orbit, the planet has to have enough water and nitrogen and carbon, and a gas giant farther out to deflect comets wouldn’t hurt.

We have detected about 200 extra solar planets so far, and only a handful have some of the above criteria (two of the stars are called 47 Ursae Majoris, 44 light years away, and Gliese 777A, 52 light years away www.extrasolar.net These two star systems have Jupiters at the right distance for comet deflection and would be stable with an Earth-like planet closer in).

Concentrate on taking as much of Asia as you can, using your air force along with troops. Build at least 2 trn on the first round, and maybe 3 inf. Once you have 4 trns shipping 8 inf per round toward Russia, you can build a factory in Manchuria that can send an additional 3 tanks per round at Russia.

Soooo just out of curiosity, what do you people think about space travel? Is it a waste of money? Is it worth it to colonise Mars? Should we spend money on research and development of things like ion drives to take us to other star systems where there might be other Earths?

I noticed in the MADDOG vs Avin game, when SBR’s were done, both the country bombing AND the country being bombed lost IPC’s. How does this work?

What about attacking the transports with your aircraft? Have Russia also do this, if they can (maybe the Russian bomber can take out 1 trn).
