RE: AAG40 FAQposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
lets try this one Krieg……
Calcutta has fallen. Does London collect IPC’s for any territory on the Pacific map?
or
- can London purchase an IC for W.India?
- how about liberated territory? Does London collect income from liberated territory? If yes, I assume they could place an IC in that event.
2a)So if W.India was lost and then liberated, London could fianally place an IC there.

OMG! I can’t believe you two are still going at it. I have two suggestions:
-
conduct this blood-fued via PM. I can’t speak for everyone, but I doubt anybody is reading all this.
-
play each other. 2 games simutaneously, with each of you getting a game as the axis and the allies. Now THAT would command peoples attention. Unless one of you fears your intellect will be exposed in this manor

RE: What type of dice do you play with?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Low luck has its place but is an entirely different game. I hate dicey and the crap it can serve up, but A&A is not A&A without the x-facor. You need to have the element of the unknown. Put on a poker face. dare the other guy to make a gamble. I love that. Low luck takes away the gamble.
I use low luck calculations to calculate expected battle losses. I found myself a better player when I use my hand-written calculations instead of relying on battle simulators.

RE: Invading Europe as the USAposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
sure the USA is not threatened and has a ton of income. You’ll have an effect the whole world over no matter what you do. But the trick is to play them efficiently. Its a logistical nightmare to play them. I would argue that they are the toughest nation to play properly. Lots of decisions to make. If the USA does not do their job well other countries wind up paying the price.

I swear to god, I could attack with twice as many planes and still not capture a territory in russia. You guys realize that dicey tends to punish sides in big battles after all the attrition virtue it gives throughout a game. beware!
